and some BBs.
I own a cfam1. The 2nd one hasn't given me problems yet, the first one was nightmare junk. He is going to need a rolling magnet to pic up 25 rps bbs and a couple cases of c02😂 it also is way outside of what it seems he needs.

for real. you'll need two hands driven by some anger to unjam a Hatsan
That and a machine shop so you can build the WHOLE gun from scratch so it's done right.

Notos is by far the best bang for buck. And will be easy to operate.

I'd steer clear of any hatsan.

Snowpeak  Boy, am I relieved

I just finished shooting 10 5 shot groups at 30 yards with my P35-22. I shot my first 200 on the 30 yard challenge two years ago with this gun using H&N 21 grain "Match" pellets. I shot a couple 198s earlier this year with it. But the last 3 targets were 189s. I cleaned the barrel (wasn't dirty) and checked the screws and found the stock screws loose but it didn't get better when I tightened them. I was pretty bummed. I like this gun. Tonight I started shooting groups with mainly 18 grain pellets to see if maybe it had just decided it liked them better or something. FX and JSB 18.1s were pretty good and H&N 18s were not bad (but the point of impact was much higher for some reason). Then I shot a group with the Match pellets and the velocity was only about 800 fps. It normally shoots these about 820 fps. It doesn't have enough power to shoot them much faster. The group at 800 was poor, consistent with the 189s. So I gave it half a turn on the Hammer Spring. Velocity went up to 820 or a little more and the group was probably the smallest I shot. Not much bigger than the 9 ring diameter. Then I tried the JSBs at that setting and I think they got better too.

I did not turn the hammer spring down but the gun wanted it turned up. I remain unsure that the accuracy difference is due to the velocity or a harmonic thing with the gun liking more hammer spring. But I don't care. One of my favorite, perhaps my favorite, airgun seems to be back to shooting quite accurately. If the weather cooperates tomorrow hopefully I will shoot another 195+ target with it.

Taipan  Taipan Slash

As excited as I am for the Slash, something just feels "off" about the whole deal. The delays, the .30 cal version being pushed back, the fact that Taipan suddenly turned off the comments on their recent videos... etc.

It's also a bit strange how few videos of it exist on Youtube. Usually these airgun channels are jumping at the opportunity to be the first to review a new high-end rifle. I keep hearing that "reviews are coming very soon", and then weeks go by without hearing anything. So far, Nate is the only 3rd party who has a review up.

I'm starting to suspect that some kind of design flaw slipped through, and Taipan are trying to save face. They recently posted a video on how to fix cycling issues, and from what I understand they added a new adjustment screw to the receiver so you can fine-tune the indexing system. Projectile weight seems to play a role in this.

Maybe Im worrying about nothing but... If some unforseen problem came up, fine... mistakes happen. But then why not just be transparent about it? Why turn off your comment section?

My first Slash Tactical Compact .22 had a 'indexing/cycling issue' when I switched from heavier to lighter pellets. I contacted Taipan, and they sent me some 'how to' videos. I promptly made things worse :(.

Tony at Talon Airguns understood my frustration, and sent me another new Slash Tactical Compact .22. This replacement Slash has been flawless. With the 25's, I'm getting more regulated shots per fill (58), more power (50 fpe), and it's quieter than my first Slash, so no need for moderator.

Think about what I just said.... A compact lightweight .22 semi-auto that gets 58 shots per fill, at 50 fpe and needs no moderator!!

As far as the Taipan Indexing Video where they show how to adjust air flow for indexing, based on pellet weight, I don't know why comments were turned off.

But, that feature is also probably why my Slash is quieter as less air is being used for indexing/cycling. Plus, now I know how to change the air flow if I get another indexing issue.

Kral Arms  A question for you "Unregulated PCP tuners"

Help me understand something. All my 4 guns are .25 cal. I just shoot from bench, 50 yds max (for now). So it seems to me that FPE doesn't matter to me, just accuracy.

The graph above shows a great deal of pressure drop from 875 psi to 775 psi in 30 shots. Is that plenum pressure? Anyway, I would think that that much pressure drop would cause significant POI drop even at 50 yds. Is this right?

Beeman  Crow magnum .20 inbound

I finally got the seals I’ve been waiting for. Everything was on the bench and ready for reassembly. I got the seal in , put the ram back in then that’s when I ran into a small glitch. The cocking button I made was a tad too big . I tried using the remaining old button as a template but the OD of the shoe was too big. I made a fresh one and tested the fit before pressing it into the cocking arm. I put the rest of the rifle together, lots of fiddling around with the trigger components. I must say the safety bar is not the sturdiest.
I tried mounting the scope , a Nikon 3-9x40 EFR and that’s when problem #2 surfaced. The portion of the scope where the turrets are located are about 1mm too big to fit the mount. I looked through the other scopes I have but they are all 30mm or bigger tubes so they won’t fit either. I shimmed the rings with a few layers of electrical tape to get by for meow.
I’d like a scope recommendation or a source for taller rings . I’ve found nothing while surfing the web.

On the bright side , the rifle now cocks and shoots . I’ll put a tin of pellets through it over the next week or so before I short over a chrony .

Refurb Velox semi auto if noise isnt an issue. Probably be 20% off for labor day, but $300 right now.

Or just get a bottle of whiskey and accidentally buy a GK1.

new guy here,optics question

I guess I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I think I can see the future of this thread. It goes on and on -- trying to HELP the orignal poster. I doubt that the original poster will ever give anyone here any feedback at all -- not answer a single question -- no response at all. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure tired of being right. We'll see. It makes me think all new guys are frickin' robot data collectors.

What a BREECH!

What does SA offer that a manually actuated gun doesn't... other than a faster rate of fire? Maybe it's easier to hold a cheek weld between shots, but big deal.

I'm not being snarky about it either, but really do wonder what the added costs and complexity would do to make my life better.

The only personal experience I have with SA airguns is with a pistol and it is more fun to shoot for sure....but also requires more frequent refills/ reloads in comparison to the guns that are not. The admission cost is high enough too for the SA guns that interest me that it'd be tempting to buy two or more of something else with that money. Just saying. But also not saying never...

What springer did you shoot today?

Wind was starting to gust and thunder roll but got a little playtime in. FWB 124 .177 and HW35E .177. Threw some cans out 18 yd from where I was standing. If you hit them just right on the edge they dance. This pair causes a lot of dancing. Only issue shooting these two together is I have to not rip the barrel off the 124 cocking it after I’ve been shooting the 35 and have to remember to thumb the latch open on the 35 after shooting the FWB. The 124 has an ARH softer kit so it’s really easy to cock. Occurred to me while shooting that a man could live his life with just these two airguns and have a pretty darn good time. Not that I have any intention of doing so, but still 😉.

Specie, those two are beautiful.

Optimal .22cal Slug Weight and Speed in 1:16 Twist Barrel

@ 1:16 even 34 javelin slugs have a stability factor of 1.68 according to strelok at 990 fps. Anything above 1.0 should be sufficiently stabilized iirc. Even then when I had my pellet liner I had things that were at 1 or just under that still, and still shot fair to decent at 100 yards but mathematically weren't sufficiently stabilized. They were squirrel accurate.

N/A  Buying O-Rings

I just pulled up the schematic for the FX Dynamic and am shocked at what little information is available. Normally FX is very good at providing all the specifications and details needed to rebuild their airguns. Wonder what happened with this unit.

Sourcing O-ring can get to be an interesting journey. At times I have had to order some O-rings from one place and others from a second and then look to a third vendor for those missing units. Believe it or not, Amazon has gotten me out of a couple of tight spots with odd sizes for some of my Chinese guns. Go figure.

N/A  Low powered guns

I agree. I have a couple rifles turned up, just for kicks, but my favorites are tuned down to comfortable, air economizing levels. I have an HW100.22 tuned to 12fpe, a Crosman Challenger at 6fpe and a Notos. The see far more use than high speed rifles.
My HW100s couldn’t hit the side of a barn when new. Polygon rifling, 20+ ft/lbs and anything under was a disaster.. It took a year to improve, and another to come good.
Now after nine years I have it at 7ft/lbs for shooting inside sheds, and it is a laser. Loaded with alternate Bara15 and Hades in a magazine they stack through one hole at 8m and 15m with same crosshairs. Head shots on pest birds. Just as satisfying as the P3 knocking pigeons at 90m/66lbs. One fill seems to last for countless magazines. 😃😃
