Field Target is an arms race.

I'm not surprised by your 13% improvement. It's likely multifactorial....the most obvious, and germane to this topic, is the equipment. But you've also been doing this longer now, so practice and experience. And the placebo effect of feeling you've now got the ultimate gun/scope combination is probably at play too.

So what were your misses? Mis-ranged? Brain fart/wrong holdover? Incorrect wind read? General instability? (And in a MUCH lower prevalence....flyers?)
Im kind of surprised of any improvement unless it was just conditions or whatever. The Thomas setup is not much more accurate than a RW. Not sure how you can really improve on 1/2 MOA or better at 50y from a RW. Its so minute at the difference that I dont see anyones score going up from it. Benchrest, possibly a tad but thats it. I shoot with too many of each. Its more the person understanding how to use their tools and have the dope and ranging setup right and handling the conditions properly. I beat many RWs and Thomas with my Marauder. You can buy accuracy to a point.

Air Venturi  Avenger air leak problems?

i know this has been talked about many times. But with that said I have not seen a true fix, unless I missed something. These
are just too good of pcps to not find the fix. Some on said it might be the brand of o-rings there using? Does ANYONE truly
know the TRUE fix to this problem. I have one that pumps up just find, but overnight it has lost the pressure. I know that has
been addressed before. But I can not seem to find the TRUE FIX for the problem. Some one Please address this & put it to rest?

Field Target is an arms race.

I'd like to use mini artillery equipment to hit the targets; ballistae, catapults, trebuchets, and mortars.
How about an old Sling and pebble (David and Goliath type ) with limits on sling length and pebble weight of course .

Benjamin  Did i miss the bubble? Marauder bottle guns

The B-Staley mod is useful. It’s very easy to do and also un-do if you don’t like the results. In very basic terms you are just adding o rings to cushion the hammer strike in very small increments. My dad still shoots a Marauder .25. We did the B-Staley mod and also added an air tube extension. He still only gets about 25-27 good shots but they are very consistent.

Field Target is an arms race.

I may regret this but, I have some stats. As yall might know I have plenty of expensive FT guns and Scopes. Even so, Prior to this weekend my highest percentage of KZ hits on a 64 shot known course was 58%.
This weekend was my first chance to run the course with - A) my new Thomas carbine and - B) my new NX8 sitting on top. I am comparing my new HFT rifle and scope to my Redwolf with a Sightron S3 (not a slouch by any means).

Although looking into the afternoon sun was problematic, West facing course, and I really needed to turn on my illuminating reticle, I didn’t, here are the results - note yards to target ranged to the right of score. One shot per target on a fairly still day.
71.8% or approx a 13% plus improvement.

For the safety of the shooter no standers or kneelers were involved.

PCP Rifle  WTS Taipan Vet I .25 Compact FS/T

For Sale /Trade:
Taipan Vet I .25 Compact w/plenum extension and ARCA Rail in very good condition. I am the second owner of this gun, I purchased this from another esteemed AGN member about 2 1/2 years ago. Originally this was purchased from Talon Tunes.

I currently have the gun shooting JSB 25.39 kings at 865FPS. If I do my part, the gun will group dime size groups at 50 yards.

Included in the purchase are 3-D printed mag holders with three magazines, two unopened tins of JSB 25 grand pellets, a lifetime supply of all O-rings, a shroud extension for running a silencer of a larger diameter than the OEM shroud. Also, padded FX case.

The only blemish is on the stock close to the trigger guard. Other than that, the gun is perfect.

Asking $1100 shipped to the lower 48.

Only possible trades that I am looking for at this time is the GK1 in .22, or the Krait .22 L wood stock

I would prefer to deal with a member is a contributing member of AGN. I do not buy or sell very much at all, but I have a solid reputation.

Thanks for looking and please reply with a PM, and then we can take it to either texting or some phone calls.

eBay restrictions on California buyers - I’ve had enough!

Good to know, explains why when I look for higher caliber specific I don't see much. This all may be useful for those selling as well. Lots of potential in CA being prevented. I did notice Bass Pro Shop has a list of Areas they will not deliver to because of city/county ordinance. Only a couple areas in CA.
Thats all it takes. Ebay doesnt want to track by county so they ban whole state. Amazon you cant get a red dot shipped to Cali if seller also ships night vision. Have to find another seller to get simple red dot.

Recommendations on small tanks

Greetings,

I am brand - new to air gunning and looking at buying a portable, small SCBA tank (I have an Umarex Zelos rifle). Can anyone give me some guidance? Also, I plan on trying to fill it with my CS4- I compressor.

Do I need to buy a male - to- male connector? Thanks in advance!

Discovery optics (Budget benterest scope)

Thanks.

I'm definitely a Discovery fan boy. I had the first HT, then a second gen, then the LHD and HD models. Damn good bang for the buck. Good reticles, Excellent tracking, Insanely low prices. Although they're looking like another Primary arms, Vortex, Arken story. Going from budget to Higher priced budget.

How many use the Zulus for...

Interesting. I've never heard of dual recoil from anything other than a springer.
My .510 Texan has a really big spring with heavy hammer that hits valve than a 650 grain slug or 1.5 once has recoil.. It eats scopes...Digital scopes much more reliable...Im old i never would of thought lol..My Airforce Condor have heavy springs and 110 gram hammers doug noble valve...I have lots of vibrations...Only downfall to Sightmark Wraith Mini is i have to run external USB battery pack...It uses CR123 batterys....Im not buying those...In the future id like a zulus or similar with rangefinder and ballistics..

Benjamin  New Pistol

I consider the P-Rod to be widely under-appreciated. I'm pushing my unregulated .22 pretty hard (20 foot pounds), so get 15-16 shots per charge. The 58 yard brain-shot mentioned in the attachment is no longer my longest air pistol kill, as last week I extended that record to 60 yards with my .22 GK-1 that is producing almost twice the power of my P-Rod. But FWIW, the P Rod is slightly more accurate (.75 to 1" average five-shot groups at 50 yards, versus 1 to 1.25").

eBay restrictions on California buyers - I’ve had enough!

.25 is limit on ebay. Happened on L2 .30 before. Saw some listings with no caliber but good picturea of labeled mag or pellets. That seems to have skayed by. If you list .30 cal ebay takes it down fairly fast 2 to 3 days max.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 , the challenge continues

That’s breech hang up. The bottom area under the block need to be filed to let it drop to level it as well as may have to relieve the face a tad. Depends. It’s all by experiance And feel . Seals will need to be fitted to.

It happens mostly with barrel swaps as tolerances can carry and .05/+- mm can make a huge difference when the breech hits that flat area under the chisel detent

HW RARELY have barrel droop and mostly from fly ups while cocking.
You need to disassemble it check the breech for strait ness to barrel .. I use my granite counter top

Bending won’t fix a poor sealing lock up. Only slight material removal to fit the action will you can clearly see innthe pic the difference in the side pic of the breech line to fork gap.
