Testing Expansion .177 slugs

Just got the JSB 13.43g Knockouts. More accurate out of the pulsar at 50 yards than the 10.03g knockouts and expand great, moving at 978 FPS and 28 ft pounds. I think the Daystate Pulsar likes heavier, longer slugs but going to try the jsb 10g mk3 knockouts and some varmint knockers, both are ordered just waiting. Going to do some comparisons at 50 yards later.

What did you do airgun related today.

Put on a new Burris Fullfield 2.5x10x44 scope and zeroed it in. Its the free replacement for the "new"
Burris Fullfeild E1 series that never worked out of the box.
Here are the results, 10-15 MPH swirling crosswind, you can see how I walked the shots over to the target and got a decent group for me @50 yards once "zeroed in" @50

Skout Airguns Whisper moderator available now!

These look nice. I appreciate that the core is machined aluminum and not 3d printed. I would not buy one without know the following details though:

What is the Length?

What is the O.D.?

Also, cores built for smaller caliber would be great!

6.5 OZ 1.5" OD 7.25" OAL

Back woods living has it's perks. Can start mowing my grass at 5am on a Sunday morning and no one around to complain.
Could shoot out my windows if it didn't bother my dogs... maybe wife also.
Get a big bore and start casting your own slugs. That opens another hole. Lead pot, PID controller for lead pot, molds, having molds modified, a ventilation system, sizing dies and press, and of course the lead. Maybe powder coating too. Of course you'll need something to keep all those slugs in. And lead traps so you can recycle the lead. And, And, And.
My wife definitely love me, otherwise I'd be buried in one of my holes 😆

I got a new regulator assembly for that Rainson Edge I've been playing with. It came in the mail today, and I replaced my old regulator. It's sitting there aired up while I'm goofing off on the internet working, and I'll check it in a little bit to see if it holds air. Fingers crossed.

I also (last night) filed off the nicks in the old regulator and measured the o-ring that was by the nicks. Replacing that regulator assembly wasn't a big deal so I might see if I can resurrect the old one.

30-Yard Challenge

That’s superb shooting at 40y.

Every time I move my target stand back from 30-40y, I start quietly talking ( cursing really) to myself. I start thinking, “Tom, why don’t you just shoot some tight groups and be content with that.”
😉

thomasair showed how much shooters are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with competition grade rifles and top notch trigger pulling…

… see post# 3222 where he submitted a 198 13X Masters card at 50 meters (55 Yards) !

Definitely need some good scope magnification at 55 yards, lol .

This is a glamor shot.
I got this gun is 2009 to shoot Field
Target. I was using a Browning Leverage shooting open piston. I sold everything I had to get this gun. I then practiced every day till I went to the US Nationals in 2015.
Now I am remodeling it to shoot Hunter class at my field target club. Been a long journey with this gun.

I knew it was going to be beautiful.

Can you fill my 4500 PSI Scott carbon fiber tank? Bakersfield California area!

Bakersfield California area if possible I need someone to fill my Scott 4500 PSI carbon fiber tank ! Tried rebuilding my yong heng compressor with no success and really would like to get out and shoot my PCP rifles I will compensate for the fill. Would be very nice today if possible!? Thank you!
If you’re up for the drive and your tank is up to date on the hydro-test we have a great airgun shop here in Fresno that will fill it for you. Maximum Airgun in Fresno on Blackstone Ave. I’d say you are about 90 minutes away.

Nickel, Dime, Dollars 😂

We just bought an old house in a different state so I can enjoy my pcps on my own property, you have far to go young one. :ROFLMAO:
I'm one of the lucky few (or not so few) than can shoot from my three-season room. I've got a pellet trap, a berm behind that, and about a mile of cornfields behind that.

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

How many FT matches have you shot using just the reticle to range targets?
None, I admitted that from the first post. But i've done it in MANY LR-UD courses. I do this everytime I fire at live prey. Finicky game doesn't always allow the time for laser ranging and dialing. I've got it in my head that a squirrel head, jaw on the crosshair to mil read at the ear at a glance .3 = 150 .4 = 125 .5=100 .6= 80 .7=65 1= ~50 1.5=30 2=25 Usually gets the job done. I don't sit there with a pen and paper. Spending most of my late teenage years and early to late 20's doing that every single weekend, that kinda became second nature. using my telescopic hi zoom ruler.

edit: I guess what I'm saying is Most people involved deep enough in the hobby to compete at hard to find niche competitions and deep enough into that scene to develop a community of friends country wide. I assume that you're practiced enough to know the size of something or at least ballpark it accurately enough to get a workable solution. You know what a minute looks like at ranges. You know what your typical Bullseye on a BR card looks relative to your Metric of choice reticle. I'm sure the Pressures of time constraints and worrying about your score adds difficulty. I'm not trying to flaunt my massive skills or imply lack of skills in anyone else, I'm sure I'd get handily destroyed by practiced FT shooters. I'm coming from the position I assume that was part of the challenge and a what would be a fundamental skill to develop as well as trigger discipline, cant discipline, Stance, Hold, breath, and optic precision.
