Umarex  Notos old news

Thank you Mike. Nothing wrong with tinkering and customizing. This is what many enjoy.

But for me personally, tight on time and careful on my budget, you articulated why I have not modded my Notos. What is sobering is seeing FS postings on highly modded Notos and the significant loss of $. For those with plenty of time and/or $, and find this enjoyable, I'm sure it is a worthwhile endeavor.

And yes, I've been impressed by many of the Notos full-on customization projects.

Huben  Huben GK1 Canadian Version.

I think this thread is BS. I'll bet $ to donuts that the GK1s sold in Canada are the same sold everywhere else. The GK1 is totally adjustable for power. There is no reason they should be different from an engineering point of view. It also looks like becoming the 52nd State may be very good idea!

Umarex  Notos old news

I have given a few of these away to family and friends, But the one I am playing with , The big plus is the light weight, Installed a 25 cc plumin a FX 380 barrel and the trigger kit, No bottle yet, Ha, I took the red dot and the swampfox off to test the accuracy of the FX barrel, Still trying to keep it light I installed a Arkin EPL-4 FFP 6x25-50 scope. Its still a fun light weight gun but not impressed with the FX barrel, May try and polish the barrel and do a lap of the end of the barrel to get rid of the sharp edge, Might help, may not we will see,,, LOL we know why the Notos is called a money pit, No matter what you spend on it its still a 300 dollar gun, A 300 dollar fun gun, Its a pellet gun unsure of the FXbarrel but my range is 50 yards , So no matter what pellets will be the king in accuracy at that range , I am shooting the 18gr pellet's at about 800 fps and the 15 gr a little faster.
Unless you are just playing around and want to tinker with a gun its a good deal for a new guy, But for the same money you can buy a used Veteran, Vulcan, Uragan, Cricket.
That will make this built up Notos look like red Ryder BB gun..
Mike

Thomas Air  Damaged skirts, does it really matter?

That's pretty much what I'f found, short of being crushed the bend skirts work well, some have said that the air pressure pushes them out in the barrel. I'm tending to believe that.
Pellets are made made from pure lead and very soft. Most pellets have skirts larger than the head diameter. So when they enter the barrel, the skirts are swaged to the barrel sealing in the propellent HPA propelling them. If the pellet damage is relatively light, they will still fly straight. Severe damaged pellets will not.

Warning my Friends!

I have a CONCRETE boat that is super stable and floats great .... It is easily towed behind a compact car or truck.

 ONE of those statements is a lie / untruth:unsure:
Do you know which one ?
I once spent the summer working on a commercial fishing boat (halibut long-liner) made out of concrete but one would be hard pressed to easily tow it behind a car or truck, compact or not.

HELIX OR TITAN ((Element scope) of course)

Thank you. I bought an athlon helos gen 2 and love it thus
far.
My buddy and I share the same rifle (we split the cost). Together we chose the helos gen 2 6-24x56 for our rifle four years ago. Neither one of us has any regrets at all. I was afraid I might not like locking turrets at first. It didn't take long for me to really appreciate that feature once I started using the scope. Thanks for the feedback dnye1986.

What did you do airgun related today.

Today I was left unsupervised. So I polished and heat blued the front stock screws on my TX200 mk3. They were shiny silver with all the original blue worn off long ago. They came out looking pretty good. Only took two tries.

Issues with brand new GX CS4 compressor

So, are you saying to not use the auto shutoff feature, to watch the needle and open the bleed valve when you get to your desired pressure?
Yes. I only fill tanks - no one way valves. I monitor tank pressure, turn off the tank valve, and then open the bleed screw on the compressor. I don't use auto shut-off because I don't want the compressor to stop under load.
