As Tim Swan proudly looks on in the background....Monstrosity or masterpiece?
Thank you JamieUK - apologies as yes, I...uh..."borrowed" your pic from a UK forum a while back, whilst working on a below-par HW 35 myself. It's the best image I've ever seen of that construction detail, and I thought the OP would find it useful to see what's under the joint. The 'de brazed' pic caught me by surprise there....its one I took of a HW35 that leaked from the braze becoming pourous.
It's a bit misleading to say it should be there. The joint of course will be there, but the fact it can been seen suggests poor joint preperation/ cylinder finishing prior to bluing by Weihrauch.....
She is right at 10 lbs and is afraid of everything except birds and now squirrels. We don't know what happened to her in her first 6 months of life but it must not have been good. She has buddy so she is great in the entertainment department. I will look into the suggestions thank you.Welcome!
Where are you that the squirrels will fight the dog and win, Tasmania? Although I've seen some huge ones in the Shasta/Southern Oregon area...
In the rest of the world, even the littlest dog quickly learns to bite the buns off the squirrel and the squirrel learns to run like heck up high, and then bark insults back at the dog, its family, pedigree, devolution into servitude from the wolf, etc.
I hear the minimum energy needed to off a squirrel is 3 foot-pounds to the head, but that must be the world record; six foot pounds would be a lot more reliable, and if yours are huge dog killers perhaps even more power is needed. That pretty much rules out the 760, but other multi-pumps can do it at 50 feet no problem: Daisy 880 (barely), 901, Umarex NGX and that Winchester version, Crosman 1000, that other new Crosman vapor or whatever, and my favorite, the Dragonfly 1 or 2. Note that at their maximum power, they get kinda loud, so you'll want a moderator too (try Buckrail).
Springer guns sound loud to the ear that rests on the gun but quiet to everyone else. I bet you'll get a recommendation for a HW 30 or 50/R7, which I will second. Recommendations on how to skin and cook them would be a separate topic.
But note that if your dog learns how to tackle its old nemesis, it will probably enjoy chasing squirrels out of the yard all day everyday, for the praise and honor. In which case, it might take days, weeks even, for squirrels to return after you shoot them and then what will your poor dog do? What will _you_ do?
Keep the 760, it makes a nice squirrel harasser with one or two pumps and BBs; aim for the rear. Not lethal, and not damaging if the BB flies over the fence. Then the dog only has to tell you it is out there and you'll have your daily fun too.
Not for me - i have already own both platforms you mentioned... very nice, but i moved on. I was responding to the earlier mentioned idea concerning power v accuracy specifically "how much power is appropriate for a given task" as long as it is on target. You are absolutly right. I would suggest for such purposes an AirArms 510 og a Daystate HUntsman.
So I actually dug the pile driver out again . I put some lube in it while filling it . Shot it a couple times and repeated the process. To my surprise it is now holding air !@redsqnm What did you identify as the source of the leak? How did you remedy it?
Thank youTheres a o-ring and a plastic cover in front of the valve. Replacement for each in the spare parts bag.
At that 30 yard distance you should have enough energy but shot placement will be important .I have tried griffin slugs in my Bulldog 155 & 165 boat tail the 155 185 FPE & 165 180 FPE the best group I got was the 155 was little over a 1” at 30 yards that is going to be the distance I will be shooting deer, do you think that will do the job?
@techna Machined a foster fill into his rifle, not sure how difficult it would be though.Has anyone done this before? I just filled my at44-10 .25 cal and it started to leak from where the fill probe goes into the tank.. i know I had put a male foster fitting on my sam yang 909s and deleted the fill probe for that airgun. Is it possible to do this to the hatsan? Anyone done this or know if its possible please let me know. Ive never had this airgun apart in the 5 years ive owned it. It's been a great air rifle and finally developed this leak. I only have the probe on this airgun out of all my lineup and would rather have a male foster if at all possible.
I tunes my buddies 600mm .25 to shoot 40gr at 880 and 34gr at 950 and it's consistent and quiet. About 145b on the rear reg with a 1st reg delete.Ima try tommorow at maybe 980 tried dialing in there with my 2nd reg turned up to about 125 it’s at 120 rn.. turned to 970 had some decent shots but yeah my liner is a 1:24
You can hope in one hand and manure in the other and see what fills up first! Military understands what this means, most don't. But It definitely answers your almost original SMH troll comment. It means take action or you have manure for the unlearned and unstable. Most don't know manure from shinola ( shoe polish for the unlearned and unstable ). A little dose of reality of which according to you there is nothing wrong with, most don't know what they ask for or preach. How 'bout we just hope it never comes to that. Here's to hope.![]()
How 'bout we just hope it never comes to that. Here's to hope.Reality needs no challenge, a lot of people would be surprised what humans are capable of in survival situations.
