Definitely replace both, and use silicone grease or other lubricant on the seat's O ring. It required a firm push to seat my valve seat.

I've found, to my dismay, that some pellets will shoot really well at, say 50 yards, but couldn't stay on 1/2 sheet of plywood at 75...
