Selling my .357 bullpup. It has a shroud adapter and m18 threaded Neil Clague moderator (which is a very nice custom .357 moderator worth $175). Total setup would cost you over $800 to buy new (after taxes), so you probably won’t find a better deal. It has a regulator also but I can only get the reg to to work at the lowest setting (with a working regulator this setup would run close to $900 new).
Currently, can only get reg to work at lowest setting which it will only shoot around 600 fps (might need new discs …I don’t know). So I just set it on the higher end where it does not regulate the psi at all but does essentially act as a good plenum.
I swapped out the original hammer preload spring and with this lighter spring it shoots an excellent shot string (8 shots in a bell curve from around 855 up to 895 then back to 855 fps with 90 grain zan slugs - from 3300 down to 2300 psi. With the original spring you can fill it up to a much higher psi and it will put out a lot more power but without a bell curve/higher standard deviation. Original spring might get a bell curve at the high end of the max fill - something close to 4500 psi - with the right ammo combo….but don’t know….i never took it over 3600 psi as I was not looking to use this for larger game.
Comes with 2 rotary magazines (125 gr Zan slugs are a smidge too long for the mags but can be loaded individually pretty easily).
I have probably around seventy-five 81 gr jsb pellets and around ninety 125gr zan slugs, and I think maybe eight or nine 90 gr zan slugs. I have put a couple hundred rounds through it and can say that it actually shoots the slugs better than the pellets (probably needs an even lighter spring for the pellets since they are still going well over 900 FPS with the lighter spring I currently have installed).
I originally bought the gun because I wanted to have my siteMark wraith camera/scope installed on one gun to hunt everything with so I didn’t have to rezero and swap around but I’ve found that this much power is not conducive for really tight groups at longer ranges for precision shooting on things like rabbit/squirrel headshots, starlings, collared doves, etc. I have connected on several crows (even past 80 yards) but precision shooting out my window isn’t quite what I’d like it to be…..i can consistently get 4” to 5” groups at 100 yards shooting off a bench (my best 5 shot group was a little under 3” with zan 90 grain slugs), but I’ve found this is not the setup I’m looking for for what I’m hunting especially since the unique setup/eye relief on the wraith scopcam does not allow for cheek weld without an adjustable cheek rest….and I’ve given up on convincing state wildlife committee to allow airguns for deer/coyotes (AEA increased max fill to 4500 on this gun so with the heavy spring it should push FPE into the 220 to 250 FPE range with the right slugs).
I will include the moderator adapter and all the pellets/slugs I have, shipped within CONUS for $380….. and if you want the moderator as well, I was thinking somewhere around $450 for everything (no scope or bipod included - and this is much less than what I have invested in this setup, but I need to put this towards the new Gauntlet that I just purchased).
If you are considering something for coyote or larger game then you probably won’t find a more affordable/capable option, but with AEA’s, I’ve found that you get what you pay for. The gun functions great with no leaks or mechanical issues whatsoever….very reliable and solidly built gun…..just not smooth/refined like guns costing several times as much.
