Been to the range again. Saturday was supposed to be trip to lumber yard for supplies but that closed very early so no dice. Instead i sort of got the range finder & ballistic calculator on my oneleaf scope dialled in. Zeroed at 56 M and range shorter or longer distances just fine, and pul lead close, closer had it not been for that plentiful SOB wind on Friday. But it calmed down as sun also started to set, so managed to put .177 Hades pellets on / near small things at extreme distances.
The 100 Yard " thread the needle " target, got banged up a little, and a few marks close to the 8 mm hole i can NOT see in my oneleaf scope even if i have the 50 mm lens.
To its left is the duelling tree, i managed to flip its top smallest paddle in the first shot, then i had to go take pictures, and even more cool getting back to shot shed i also first shot the next 2 paddles from the top. Also hit the 4 from the top in first shot, but not enough smacking power in a .177 pellet at that distance.
later i broke out the Two to get a few shots in on that before the light was completely dead. Previous outing the Two had been shooting damn well at 990 fps with the 13 grainers, but today not touching anything it only shot like 970 fps, and it was no good, so i amped up regulator to give me the 990 fps again, but today that did not work. So gave the temperamental Huma regulator a slight twist in the hope of landing on 980, but alas i landed on high 60 ties / 970 fps again. BUT ! that suddenly worked just fine. So i shot a little of this and a bit of that before as the light was giving its dying breath i finished up with a group at 75 M
Now there is a few fliers here, but guess how many shots it is.
In that corner and a lot in growing hole, is between 40 and 45 shots, i got a few off before i zeroed my chronograph and it had 38 shots on it when i was done.
Today Sunday, while the wind was good, it was swirly, and as my setting from yesterday did not work again i went searching for that sweet speed spot, and today it was 960 - 955 fps.
Mind you still a bit messy shooting 75 M 10 hole groups, did not feel like that last group from yesterday, but at least i got to burn through another tin of 13 grainers, so again this time 800 of them shot, and about 400 Heavy pellets.
Got to the range, shot maybe 50 shots, and Pssssssss air constantly leaking out my barrel. So valve clearly not able to completely close, several air shots did not help, that have once worked but no help yesterday, will replace entire fire valve with spare and overhaul. Changed to the Maverick and kept shooting.
