In my 2 rifles i am not able to push heavy weights for some reason, both FAC AGT Vulcan 3 and 700 mm barrel FX maverick
So i shoot 13 grain which do fine for me, when it cant be any other way, but i would prefer if i was able to shoot heavier, but it seem it is not to be for me.

And i have spent a frustrating amount of hours trying to make heavier stuff work.

Actually as things fly off the shelf here, VIA my rifles, well i have 5 new boxes of 13 gr Zan on the way to me.

I will try heavy stuff again when i get a new rifle, but the 2 surrent ones i have given up with

I do find it funny that with FX, all caliber barrels for slugs have a faster twist rate than pellet barrels, but in 4,5 mm that is not the case, i find that very " strange "

PS: i can also shoot 10 grain just fine, but i prefer the little larger 13 grain

PPS: i start to panic is there are less than 10 boxes of Zan slugs in my ammo box. :)

13 gr do fine for me, not least if you look with the shots / dollar glasses on, and as a person on a gooberment pension i have to do that.

BUT ! i like the smacking power the heavy slugs give, if only i could get them to fly right.
But at least the 10 - 13 and somewhat 16 grain Zan cam do that, H&N slugs, well no matter what weight or speed i have tried, they for sure will not fly right out of my 2 rifles.

JSB 10 and 13 gr do fine too, but Zan do fly a little bit better i feel.
Also had okay luck with 12.5 NSA and even 15 grainers as i recall.

I cranked my Maverick up really high and put in 20 grain Zans, not terrible accurate, but the power was there with 50 foot pounds
Needless to say i have tried 16 and 20 grains with speeds ranging from 880 FPS or so and up past 1000 FPS, but i just can not find a sweet spot for them

I am hoping that will change with a new rifle, CUZ i really would prefer to at least be able to shoot like that with a few twists of a knob on the rifle, even if i will probably remain shooting 13 grain

Also the box of 10 grain Zans i got, well i have not tried those myself, but i will on Sunday, but i got those to see if they would work for my friend with his cheap air rifles, but they did not work for him.

My Zan heavy " problems " well i am sure it is me, or my rifle.

I am quite sure that if you blind tested me i would be able to say what magazine is 13gr JSB KO slugs, and which magazine is 13 gr Zan, the target paper will tell that story i am sure, the KO slugs are a bit more erratic, even if i feel all my slugs are still more erratic than i like them to be.

Well, I shoot them all very well in my Daystate Delta Wolf .177 HP and also my BRK Ghost .177 HP 🎯 :)

I probably shoot 13 gn and 16 gn the most - Plenty of power and accuracy with the 13 gn to go out to 150 M or 164 yards 🎯👻

The BRK Ghost will push the 20 gn at 952 FPS - 40.2 FPE and they shoot well at 50 M and 75 M - Need to test them further out, but that is a lot of power in a small .177 !!!

10gr. for guns under 20FPE. Keep in mind you do loose a few FPE due to more friction, so shooting a 10gr. slug is like shooting a 13gr. pellet. I've heard these 10gr. ZANs work great for springers, but I haven't tried yet.
So far went from 12.5NSA -> 10gr. knockout -> 10gr. ZAN. in a 16FPE Daystate Regal Classic. From minute to squirrel to tack driving.

I shoot the 10gr out of my Vixen long at 880fps. I use the 13gr with my RTI Prophet 2 at 940fps and the 16gr with my Impact MK3 at 950fps. Haven't pushed them past 50yards yet! I don't really shoot pellets with these any more just ZANS!!! For little 177 slugs they hit so hard! :)
Just a quesiton, the transferport restrictor how much mm u have it to reach that velocity 3mm or 4mm? thank you !

They got that in the form of the 8.5gr lead free slugs.
Not bad just not hip on lead free .. or sugar free, Pepsi free, glutton free, ect i do like tax free, risk free , interest free and mostly gifted to me free...

I am all in on all that free ( dom ) i cant have, thanks to my benevolent rulers.
Sugar free anything, well that do not sit well with me, that kind of free they can take.

I think it will be hard making a .177 slug lighter but still be all lead, the 10 gr ones i feel are hard enough to handle, and if you go lower i fear you end up with a slug that is shorter than it is wide.
or maybe if you go reverse hollow point, so no hollow in the front but the slug would he hollowed out some in the rear sort of like in a pellet skirt.
But that's also about the only way can see to loose a few grains.

What i would like to see is some boat tail .177 slugs.

Lot of alloy used anyway but maybe as long as the weights the same ? Like 8 grain pba or 8 grain lead ? What do you loose ?

Now in a strong gas ram. Like say my Gamo them zans above would do and be a go ..

The 10 and 13 grain Zan are incredibly accurate at long range in my impact and Uragan. The aura gun shoots them at medium speeds or high speeds extremely well…It doesn’t seem to matter. Impact seems to like the 13 grain anywhere from 900 to 1000. The 10’s don’t shoot so well in the impact.

Absolutely amazing performance and down range impact
