Yukon Tactical Explorer Side Pack

I've worn mine twice now out in the woods, and I love it! I've got it loaded with all the junk I need for a (short) day of hunting, plus my .45 Springfield, and I forget I'm wearing it. It's nothing like my backpack, which is a PITA no matter how little stuff I have in it. The only advantage my pack pack had was it's ability to actually hold any squirrels I smacked. I haven't gotten any lately, and so am not sure if I can fit them in the big compartment, but I'll let you know when I do. Thanx again, ztirffritz!

Aside from the difference in cost, have any of you considered purchasing the more expensive Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack? It appears to be well made and comes in a variety of colors. I'm looking at the blaze orange version for when I go hunting. The OD Green and Khaki/Foli models have also caught my eye. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DZR5D6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_3&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm also wondering if the water bottle pocket on the Maxpedition Jumbo is big enough to hold my Joe B. Guppy Carbon Fiber Tank . . . that would be great if it did!

They look very similar however the main compartment on the Yukon is slightly bigger. 8 x 4 x 9.5. I don't have a guppy but I was able to fit my Mac in it. Main compartment is 4 in. deep but could be stretched to about 6 if you gave up space in another compartment. You have a good chance of making it work. I don't think it will work in the waterbottle area so you would have to put in the Main compartment. The Maxpedition main compartment is only 3 in. in the main compartment so it might not work in that bag. The Yukon is a quality bag, probably why Frank is so high on this bag. I have enjoyed showing it off myself. Full price the Yukon is about $50 so I can't see paying $80 for the Max bag.

Frank,

I have a J. Massey Long Bow . . . also a Black Widow recurve . . . just wondering how the Yukon Pack would work as a "carry" when traditional archery hunting . . . I'm a righty, so maybe a left Yukon Bag would be a better choice . . . my wife bought me a blaze orange Maxpedition Jumbo for Christmas. She told me after she found out I bought the Yukon . . . now I can compare the two bags when they both arrive.

Hmmmmm, I was wondering, I have a RAW HM1000X on order. Originally, I thought maybe my Guppy would fit in the water pouch, but the Guppy may be too big . . . what about buying a second 480cc carbon fiber buddy bottle that will fit in the water pouch. In effect, this would double your shot total while in the field or hunting. Has anyone already done this?

This is the tank that I have:

Looking at the picture of a Guppy on the JoeB's site would lead me to believe that it would fit with room to spare. I'm not sure how that lines up with the 90ci tank that I have, but it looks like it's either the same size, or smaller. I wish that all these companies would standardize on how they describe their tanks. JoeB describes it as 17cu ft, I think that's the same as the 90ci tank that I purchased from JDSAirman, and yet other companies describe it in cc's. I'm sure in the rest of the world, they probably use liters to describe them as well.
