Yong heng compressor issue

Hey guys, i received my compressor the other day along with my 30min scba tanks. I purchased the 110v model and am having an issue. Was wondering if anyone else who had this compressor had a similar issue as well. I got the water pump hooked up and flowing, plugged in the main power to the pump and when ever i flip the switch it instantly pops a curcuit breaker.i have also tried plugging it directly into the socket off of my fuse box which is a 20 amp breaker. Still instant pop.im wondering if they sent me a 220v model by accident and if that would cause this issue.i opened the unit up to check for wiring issues and everything seems to be ran fine. Figured i would see if i could get help from here. I did email the manufacturer/seller i purchased it from just not sure if ill get a response this weekend of until monday. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I had only a few proplems with mine.i felt like it was a learning process, first thing I did was blow safedy disc, pressure builds very quickly.then I was using to long extension cord to weak 16ga,then.pluged direct to wall and solved that issue.have only used a couple of times.i would get ahold of seller and state the facts and see what they want to do.good luck hope its something simple.

Sounds like a ground wire issue. I would really look it over and make sure all the wires are connected properly and make sure the ground wire is hooked up. Usually this happens when the hot and return wires are crossed or are touching. be careful don't try to use bigger and bigger breakers. I don't think that would happen if it was a 220 model either. It just wouldn't run.

Don't let me insult your intelligence cause I don't know what you know but read this all the way through first and then test. Those 2 yellow things are wire nuts. What you need to do is check to see if there is continuity between the red wires in those wire nuts and ground. One lead will have to stay on the ground the whole time so you will have to check both red wires to green with your meter. Once you remove those wire nuts, do not let those 2 black wires touch each other or anything else. In fact if you remove the wire nut, separate the black and red, then replace the wire nut on to the black wires that would be the safest option. You need to get the capacitor out of the circuit before you test with your meter.

What you are doing is checking that the motor windings are not grounded. If there is continuity between either red wire and ground, your motor is faulty and you will need to contact the seller to hope you get a replacement unit. If there is no continuity. I'll give you more to check.

That doesn't sound good to me at all. Contact the seller and let them know you have a ground fault in your motor windings. They will likely have to replace your unit unless they do some kind of strange wiring unknown to me, which is possible. I assume the unit doesn't even attempt to run that it just trips the breaker right away, I mean you did say instantly. That is indicative of the hot wires being shorted to ground. Least that is what I have gotten from all the information you have provided.

UPDATE!!!! great news!. i must say chinas customer service is pretty dang good if i must say they went back and forth with many emails of course all at 3 am because of the time difference(but hey i work second shift so im up anyway).as they didnt have any other units in the us warehouse so they offered to send me one from china about a month shipping though. i declined that as i did not want to wait a month. next they offered for me to bring it local to have it repaired and they would pick up the bill. or they would offer me $150 return plus the parts to repair it my self which i opted to do. i decided to dig a little deeper into the motor and come to find out there was just a piece of one of the motor windings stuffed up against the housing of the motor which is grounded. well a little tweek to the wire and some paint on electrical tape on the piece of housing as an extra barrier the motor and pump now work great! i say well worth the headache! and now will have spare parts for any future issues down the road. Also to anyone looking to buy one i guess its a flip of a coin , but i would do it again! the pump works great! fills my 30 min scba tanks much faster then expected from 2000psi to 4600psi which dropped to about 4450psi once it cooled off (i prefilled them with what was left in my scuba tanks).
