Hynzie, a friend and I have been talking about starting a basic AG range. Not FT, just a place where one can have a lane to 150 yards to set up however you want to shoot or train.
I'm new enough that I know what I would like? But not sure how to market it for the rest. I see this a lot like a bowling alley.
I can set targets at what yardage I want. We provide know yardage in 10 yard increments.
A break every >>> what ever to reset. 20 -30 minutes?
Thoughts guys?

I have personally check into this exact thing myself thinking how great would it be to have a place where air gunners can shoot / sight in etc. Checked on insurance requirements etc. Finally went to a local indoor shooting range to speak with management there and to pick their brains and get feed back. Less than 2 minutes into the conversation they mentioned 3 little letters that brought the whole idea to a screeching stop. E.P.A. Anything involving lead is automatically considered hazardous waste and the EPA is involved. Huge investments involved if it is to be an indoor range, air monitoring / testing multiple times a day, special air filtration, environmental impact studies and meetings and viability requirements. Lead containment. Hazardous waste disposal that needs to be incinerated, the list goes on. Many of these same restrictions apply to outdoor ranges too. Go visit with the management at your local indoor or outdoor gun range and it will cure you of any such thoughts. If however you buy the land and use it yourself that may well be a different story. It is when you openly invite others for money or otherwise to participate that the 3 letter agencies get involved. The best option I know of is the public range / club where the EBR is being held. Get enough air gunners to join a local / reigonal shooting / sportsmans club and form an air gunners chapter as a part of the club / range. You can then start to organize and schedule events that are air gun friendly. This also requires a lot of time and organization. If you want more information along those lines contact the airgun division of the Rio Salado Sportsmans club. That's what I have learned for what it's worth.
