"unionrdr"Went to the site and emailed them about the .25cal hollow points @ 25gr. If they'll seal in the breech of my Benjamin Trail NP XL725, and being a hair lighter than the JSB King .25's, they might give some serious face planting power to the local piggy's?
You know what you're talking about, make them piggies sit right down for you.

Hog's skull ain't that thick. We used to shoot'em in the butcher shop in the head with a .22 short. Big-boned legs don't mean big-boned heads. And my Trail NPXL725, with H&N FTT 19.91gr got a high of 858FPS/32.55FPE. JSB King .25 25.39gr got high of 679/26.00, and H&N crow magnum 26.23gr got a high of 684/25.06. I think it'll do. Ken Warren shot two small pigs in the same pack with a .22cal Gamo Whisper. It's on Youtube, at about 22yds. So I think my .25 magnum can do at least 30 yards? I've hunted a few times in my life. I've shot spoils of war and sporters. And more. I'm no expert by any means, but I do study and remember what worked and such. I think too many folks are too used to using a cannon where a small bore rifle would do. Besides, the .25cal is a 1/4 inch diameter projectile...nice size chunk of lead.

The two times I went out JUST to shoot feral pigs, I took my 9mm Freedom 202. It did the job, even if accuracy is poor past 50 yards. This said, I shot an unexpected feral pig with my Cobra (25.4 grains at 876 FPS), from about 40 yards. All it did was drop in its tracks, and didn't quiver one iota. Lucky shot maybe, but as mentioned, their skull isn't all that thick.

I understood you blackdeisel. I know you said you wouldn't. But a pig's skull really isn't that thick. Just gotta get through the skin, muscle, etc first. And Alan, that's the weight of the JSB King .25's I have. Mine shot them from 658-679FPS & 16.71FPE to 26.00FPE. The H&N FTT @ 19.91gr got a high of 858/32.55. Velocity and FPE or?...
