Wife is wanting to move to Florida next year

We are not originally from Ohio so she is fed up with the cold winters and has been on me about moving to Florida (where she grew up) to be closer to her mother For a couple of year now. I am wondering how is air gun life there? I am pretty spoiled now with lots of woods and pests to hunt. I am originally from California myself and that was a really pesting dream. I do not want to get stuck having to drive an hour just to shoot after all the real reason I got into air rifles was because of the convenance of not having to travel far to have fun shooting unlike like the powder burners I have. I know very little about the state except I like the beaches very much and have enjoyed traveling there on vacation for 5 years now! I fact we are here now for Christmas and it has been great in the Largo area but I don't think this is a place for me to live because it is too city and not enough country. Any info would be great!

You might want to read what's here: http://myfwc.com

You can hunt squirrel, rabbit, and wild pigs with an airgun in Florida, without restriction. Other game, not so much unless you have a Predation Permit. And then, you have to get past the local city and county laws, which can be a bit cumbersome. I wouldn't say their game and fish laws are strict, but they aren't anywhere near as liberal as say Texas.

Your play should be that you'll agree to moving to Florida, as long as you live somewhere rural, where you can shoot airguns on your property.

You like it in OH, where you can hunt and shoot. She likes it in FL where you both can be close to her parents.

I think it's a reasonable compromise to live somewhere at least a bit rural.

Oh, and avoid the hurricane destruction zone. With global warming on the rise, hurricanes are getting more frequent.

Another thing: check with YouTube member floridabullfrog. He seems to get a LOT of hunting done down there!

Mind you if you look at the data for only the last 40 years they are going up. That seems to be the biggest problem with what passes for "weather science" these days. They hand pick their evidence and then massage it as necessary to come to the conclusion which will win them the biggest grants.

Frankly I'd like to see these data plotted in higher resolution on the same chart. Can't seem to find it and I'm too lazy to get the tabular data and do it myself. It does look to me like there is data that shows the sun has been warming over the last century or more.

Thurmond, I did look at that report. It's supported by an organization called CFACT which exists to support business in trying to denounce the truth of climate change. This is not an official scientific report. It's one persons ramblings meant to disguise what is actually happening so that business can continue to profit.

I hesitated in writing this as I like that this forum isn't political. All different kinds of folks with different views can connect with each other about the joy and love of a shared hobby.
It's just that this is soooo important to everyone. And,your children if you have them. Greed has no limits. No place it won't venture into to get it's needs met, and must be called out before it destroys the world.

Le't not make this into a long drawn out thread. Thurmond, you gave a view. I gave a different one. Everyone, let's leave it at that.
