What scope would you guys buy??

I am buying a .22 Discovery & am confused & overwhelmed at the choices for a scope for this gun . I will be hunting with it out to 100 yrds & am thinking 200$ for purchase price , so what's your recommendation? Also I have a ton of gift cards to cabellas do they have anything that might fit the bill??

I'd say 100 yards is a stretch for the Discovery-your mileage may vary, so to speak. I like the Hawke Vantage 3-12 or the Aeon 3-12 with the trajectory reticle which gives you lots of aim points. Both are side focus. Definitely get a scope with mil-dots or some other multi aim point reticle rather than duplex, and one that has adjustable parallax.

"dalejameson"I have this one on my Discovery and love it! I find with the 50mm objective I can chase critters at first light and last light easily. http://www.airgundepot.com/hawke-optcis-sport-hd-4-12x50-ao-scope-hk3019.html
I have this one too, and I think it is the best you can do for around $200. 12X @ 100 yards might start to look a bit small, unless you're shooting big targets. My airgun club has about a 12" skillet hung up at 100 yards for plinking. I can hit it standing offhand every time @ 100 yds. with my .177s; even springers. I wouldn't plan on squirrel hunting at that range though...
