I am buying a .22 Discovery & am confused &  overwhelmed at the choices for a scope for this gun . I will be hunting with it out to 100 yrds & am thinking 200$ for purchase price , so what’s your recommendation? Also I have a ton of gift cards to cabellas do they have anything that might fit the bill??

I’d say 100 yards is a stretch for the Discovery-your mileage may vary, so to speak. I like the Hawke Vantage 3-12 or the Aeon 3-12 with the trajectory reticle which gives you lots of aim points. Both are side focus. Definitely get a scope with mil-dots or some other multi aim point reticle rather than duplex, and one that has adjustable parallax.

I have this one on my Discovery and love it! I find with the 50mm objective I can chase critters at first light and last light easily. http://www.airgundepot.com/hawke-optcis-sport-hd-4-12×50-ao-scope-hk3019.html

I have this one too, and I think it is the best you can do for around $200.  12X @ 100 yards might start to look a bit small, unless you’re shooting big targets. My airgun club has about a 12″ skillet hung up at 100 yards for plinking. I can hit it standing offhand every time @ 100 yds. with my .177s; even springers. I wouldn’t plan on squirrel hunting at that range though…

I started with a Bushnell AR Optics 3-12x on my Discovery.  They sell them at Cabela’s.  I only stopped using it because I switch to an 8-32 for field target.

I used a Leapers 3-12×44 SWAT scope for a couple years, and I still have it on one of my 10/22’s.   It’s a pretty good scope, and I was happy with it until I made the jump to Hawke scopes.   I’ve grown to really appreciate the thinner reticle on the Hawke scopes.
Anyway, here’s a link to that UTG scope. Currently only about 100 bucks.

Any Hawke. I am especially fond of the Airmax series of scopes.

I have 3 Hawke Air Max scopes all different objective sizes the newer ones have the AMX reticle. They take a day at the range to get used to because the etched glass reticle is finer than most, but you will appreciate it in the end because you can see your target.
Great scopes at a good price.
