what do you fill your BR bags with?

I found that a heavy rest stays still. With that being said, I have tried the heavy sand from Sinclair but it's structure is more of a round shape and does not take a set, and the bag always shifts. Have tried many mediums and fine river sand seems to work the best. It's structure is polygon shaped and all the grains will interlock with each other. Playground sand like Ace sells is too course and leaves too much air space between the granules. Coldking is right on track in that it takes a little practice to do 'em right ( not too full). It's a matter of personal preference and I don't like the bag shifting around. I bought a one ton dually and now lift weights, and that is my setup.

Wife saw add for that new indoor shooting range on local cable TV the other night. Called them for info. Called " Gun Hub", 3953 Colorado Avenue here in Sheffield Village, OH. PH# 440-654-2404, weekdays are $15 for unlimited time, $20 on weekends for same. Got doctor appointment moved to today & will stop at Walmart for a bag or two of the plastic bean bag filler & see if they have some hearing protection. Wanna get over there asap! Finally got check for cousin's estate, but a lil low. So it's either another used car or rebuilt engine in old one by LCJVS kids? Need a car to get around, particularly shooting & hunting.

Well, darn. I ordered two 1lb bags of those plastic bean bag beads for my BR bags, thinking that'd be enough. Nope! 2lbs only filled the front bag 2/3's of the way up. Ordered another 5lb bag from Walmart.com to finish filling them up. My Osage range bag & Caldwell electronic hearing protection should be here tomorrow.

Well, the 5lb bag of plastic bean bag filler beads I ordered to finish filling my BR bags with came in the other day. All told, it takes all 5lbs to fill both bags! What I received was a large bag containing five-one pound bags. So I've got two one pound bags unused laying around. At least I'm ready to go, on a day where it ain't snowin like last night & today. 6-8". Gonna start sighting in all three rifles very soon, finally. Wanted to smack myself when I read the label, ...they're made over in Strongsville. Ordered from Walmart.com from IL...

Thanks guys ! This is good stuff. I had no idea what to fill my sand bags with, other than real sand. I thought baking soda, salt, anything inexpensive, not too heavy, and won't clump.

The airsoft BB's is a great idea ! I was also thinking silica gel. Crushed walnut shells like used in sand blasters like Widget23 said is also a great idea.

I think I'll go to Big-5 soon and get some airsoft BB's. Seems like the best overall idea. Won't smell, clump, leak, etc.
