been tossing around a new air rifle, so far i have a few Diana 34's a HW97K and a R9 all in 177 except one 34 in 22 cal, i am debating on either the Walthers LGV or the HW 98 in 177 to add to my selection, any comments, i know the Walthers trigger needs some work, can the LGV trigger be adjusted near the Rekord.

I can't speak for hw98 but rekord trigger beats lgv trigger for sure all day long. Walther's factory trigger has a limit and it is even hard to find a walther's upgrade trigger. But it can be tuned as a really light first stage trigger. Search for yankee tune. Other than that I really like my lgv. Slightly less recoil than my old hw97 and has threaded barrel end so can tame the bark to puff without any adapter. Fun stuff. My lgv factory spring does not twang.

The LGV has a smoother shot cycle and is dead nuts quiet with a silencer. My HWs are a little jumpier (with tune) but I would say slight more accurate than the LGV (this might be due to the LGV's crappy trigger)
Even with the metal trigger the LGV's trigger is no were near the Record. But you can buy an after market unit from Rowan engineering ( I am still to buy one).

The synthetic LGV stock does not have enough cheeck rise, trigger is too far from the grip and is too slender (IMO). If I had to get the LGV again, I would get it with the wooden adjustable stock.

The LGV is well built, but the HW is sturdier.
