Useing qb 78-79 after market trigger in umarex gauntlet

Hey every one,
have any of the owners of the new umarex gauntlet looked into trying the after market QB 78-79 triggers from archer airguns?
I know that the gauntlet trigger is based ( and most of the rifle) on the q.b. series,
And that the after market triggers are available and have been for a time,
but does any one know if the trigger groups them selfs are close enough mechanicaly for adding it to the gauntlet?
Thanks
- Pili

Triggers are the same, but. Why try the archer airgun stuff? If that is reallt something you want just buy a bolt a not that fits a nut that slides over and a sprig? Well under $1.00 at ace hardware and just as much fun.
It already adjust down in the oz range and if wanting the 2 stage feel a plunger screw ( name please, hex screw with spring loaded ball bearing in tip ). Again under $1.00 biut smooth & clean everytime.

How's your shooting?

Heya spysir!,
thanks for the reply.
the reason im wanting to use the archer after market trigger in a word is this..... safety.
let me explain,
When the benjamin NPSS 2 came out I bought one. It had had a bit of a spongy -vague trigger.
( No scratch that it had a very long, gritty, super vague trigger!)
Now alot of people in the forums were saying the same type of
thing " add a bearing out of a R.C. car" they said or "change out your springs and add a longer screw."
The problem with these fixes is the diffrences in the parts used.
. some people had total luck while others ended up with HAIR triggers that would discharge when the rifle was bumped, dropped or just looked at funny.😉 I went with the charlie da tuna and I love it!
The trigger and sear linkage is a place where a 1,000th of an inch can have very real consequences and im not confident that the chineseum bolts they buy by the pallet at my local Ace are any where close enough batch to batch to chance Em'
Me... I like haveing a 40 yard range on my property and I very much love the fact my neighbors are cool with it as well as long as Its SAFE.
I think I would lose a lot of trust with them and in myself if I had negligent discharges due to a dollars worth of wonky parts or worse -hurt some and have to explain why that happened
" Uh ...your honor I guess Im a cheap skate. - I saved 20$ but shot my neighbors window out😨

Shooting is going well -when I can.
rainy season just started here and between that , the wind, & it beeing dark before I go to work and dark when I get home😁
This will be my first trip over to the DARK SIDE with the gauntlet, im waitn on P.M.A to send it.
They are saying it (the gauntlet) should ship on the 12th of this month, along with sports match adjustable rings, a bubble level ,a hill mk.4 pump (YES I remembered to order the correct fitting for it to foster fitting) a aeon 10-40x56 and a tin of 500 jsb 18.13s
this is gonna be the best Hollidays
yet!

Stay safe.
Have you looked at the picture of the mentioned part.
A bolt , 2 nuts and a spring , perhaps slightly modified. Not worth the money to me.

Now installing an 8/32 plunger screw ( or two ) is worth the money, and, 100% safe.

Or, the Gauntlet straight from the factory will adjust under one pound and not discharge when drop 4 feet unto concrete butt first. And wont discharge when beat about the receiver and neck - so to speak- with a large rubber mallet. I have tested this one to be safe with anyone handed to but I am right at 1lb, the plunger mod really feels two stage but you really need to go 1.5lb or above for travel

Maybe wait until you try it before buying/trying mods? Buy the archers & have it ready and do an install and review for us, you would be the first more or less.

Pili,
Are you familiar with the QB trigger?

I don't have a gauntlet....yet.... but I do have a few...cough...few QB's in different states.....they multiply like rabbits....so much fun to fiddle with.

That looks very close to a qb trigger.....so close I would say it that all the adjustments sure look the same....if it is not it sure is a kissing cousin.

Makes me want a gauntlet even more....I love the QB series....but I am going to wait till they are on the shelf.
