Trigger time with the R5 .25 long

Got a chance to take the R5 .25 long out today and shoot some 34grn heavies. These are going on avg 915fps .Shot a few groups at 50 yds which basically could be covered by a quarter,,,,the best group i got can be covered by a dime.Im getting about 35shots per fill at this setup.
The trigger is set a kind of heavy but very predictable,,,,i need to lighten the trigger some for sure.

Lookin' good Kdog. I just ordered my first Edgun from Brian. Hope it shoots as good as yours. I went with the .25 long R5M with Huma upgrade.
I'm not much of a hunter and prefer to shoot paper and plink so 45 fpe is more than enough for me. Brian said he would tune it for 900 fps and I should get 60 shots on a fill with this set up shooting the 25.4 gr.
I can go through some pellets with all my plinking and hardly ever shoot past 55 or 60yds anyway. Can always crank up the power later if I get a wild hair.

That 40yd group just gives me the shivers! Love it!

Thanks for sharing your R5 experience Kdog! Great groups & a beautiful looking stock.

I wish Ed would make a more ergonomic grip. I modified my R2 short grip, but it still wasn't as good as other bullpups.

I'm interested to hear more about the trigger. I've had 3 Matadors (R1 & R2) and the triggers left me wanting "mobetter".

Cheers!

Thanks Michael,,,,my trigger is untouched yet set up at factory settings.Im sure it can be improved with a lighter trigger pull.Im not expecting a match grade Steyr trigger on this beast but i should be able to get it where its better for target shooting.

The one thing that is really noticeable on the R5's compared to previous Matadors is that your chickweld is forward of the loading port/magazine and i think is more comfortable there. All in all Ed did a fantastic job designing this rifle.
