Today's Buying experience 5/12/15

So with a lot of time deliberating between the Daystate Wolverine B and the FX I finally decided on the FX Royale for my dad. (see my other thread for more details)
I shopped around as one might imagine. Hitting all the FX and Daystate vendors for cost and availability. (Spent ~5k)

AOA: This vender had almost everything I needed which was great. The issue I had with this vendor was attitude. Even with multiple calls they appeared disinterested in my business and I came away with a bad taste in my mouth. Items not in stock did not have availability date no effort was made to find out when. One call, the gentlemen was rude, but maybe my coffee hadn't kicked in yet :)

Precision AG: I wasn't going to call these guys at first, but due to a PM and some other reviews I decided to give them a try. Right away I felt they listened to what I wanted and worked through the order with me. They also had nearly all I needed which is great. They also were able to tell me exactly when the back ordered product would arrive and ship. They even took the time to chat me up at the end of the order, which made me feel real comfortable.

Air Gun Source: The shipping issues from CA to US (cost and paper work) were too much trouble.

I CONCUR!!! ATTITUDE !! I LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO VISIT STORE AND HAVE BOUGHT 2 NEW GUNS IN THE PAST YEAR ON VISITS TO THE STORE. I FINALLY DECIDED NOT TO PUT MYSELF THROUGH THAT UNPLEASANT FACE TO FACE ENCOUNTER WITH AN OBNOXIOUS PERSON. THERE IS ONLY ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES WHO I HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE WITH BUT FOR SOME REASON I ALWAYS SEEM TO GET HIM. HE IS THE GUY IN THE BACK ROOM WHOSE WORK STATION IS THE CLOSEST TO THE COUNTER AND YOU CAN STAND AT THE COUNTER FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WHILE HE IS ON A PHONE CALL AND WHEN HE DOES ACKNOWLEDGE YOU, CLEARLY YOU ARE AN UNWELCOME INTERRUPTION TO HIM. I CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH P.A.

Skywagon,

I know exactly who you are referring to and yes, he is usually busy on the phone most times I have been to the store. However, once he is off he has always provided me with great service and is extremely knowledgeable about all the guns and accessories they sell. You could always ask for someone else to help you I'm sure they wouldn't mind. The thing about AOA that might rub some folks the wrong way is that they tend to spend a lot of time with each customer without rushing and those who are waiting may get inpatient. I am guilty of doing that myself though in the end, I know once they get to me I'll be provided the same courtesy of not being rushed. Everyone is entitled to their on opinion and if you choose to do business with another vendor, that is totally acceptable and I respect that.

Neil, it's hard not to speak about AOA considering I only live 15 minutes from the store and am there at least once a week. I realize that most folks don't have the luxury of being able to physically visit the store and have only dealt with them over the phone. My response above was unbiased and honest. I don't keep count of my AOA specific posts so any trends or patterns of me defending them is new to me.

"NeilClague"Scott that is strange since you told me you did not even live in the same state as AOA when you asked me to speak up for you on the yellow forum? It was based on what you told me that made me go to bat against Steve for you, looks like I was wrong in my assessment. Your wording totally looks like you have some kind of ties to AOA, Neil.
Thats enough boys. Scotts response is in line with the original post. Members are allowed to share their experiences and insight, which is exactly what Scott did. Furthermore Scotts history shows that he use to live in Virginia & just recently moved to Arizona. Please keep your responses on topic & constructive.
