The perfect skunk pesting

Last night, I stepped up from my basement cave and noted that the LED was flashing on the motion alarm. I turned on the back yard light, and sure enough, there was a stinker digging the lawn, under the feeders.

He didn't even look up when I turned the light on.

I got the S510 unlocked, chambered a round. Power is set to around 20 FPE. (.22 cal.) I turned on the reticle light and homed in on his boiler room. *chik* *POOK* Sounded just like thumping a beer belly. He turned his rear end toward me and raised his tail, but didn't spray. He put it down and started to amble off. Made it 5 ft. or so, then slowed down and fell over. He got up, changed direction, and walked about 15 yards. Then, he piled up, took a few more breaths, and all was still.

I decided to leave him there to make sure he was thoroughly expired. I'd come back and bag him up later.

I came back up a couple hours later, and would you believe it, he was gone! Did he shake it off? Certainly not, it was a solid lung hit. No. I'm sure my neighborhood fox came by and picked him up for me. I hope she dines cautiously. The only thing wrong is that I don't have a pic to show you. You'll have to settle though and just be happy I didn't have to clean him up. :)
