Take a look at my new Mad Dog stock.

The upper air rifle is a Marauder in .22, it has a new Mad Dog stock on it.

The lower air rifle is another Marauder in .177. It has the original stock on it.

I had originally wanted a Mad Dog stock for the .22, but liked it so much the I bought two, one for each of my Mrods (the stock is called the Shark Light) .

The new stock is lighter, slimmer and offers a great cheek rest. When you place you thumb through the thumbhole and grip the stock, it just feels so natural.

Take care, Bobby

"OldCorps"Like the stock! Where did you get it, link? I wonder if it's available for a Gen2? I got the synthetic stock when I bought my Mrod because of the lighter weight. I got a Realtree Xtra camo stock from Crosman and it looks really nice but since it's wood it is unfortunately heavier than the synthetic. I mistakenly thought the camo stock would be synthetic.

It is my understanding that it is only available for Gen 1. But you ought to call Doug and ask.

He’s a real likable guy.

"zebra"I like it too. The original Marauder stock is a bit of a plain Jane for my taste. That Maddog stock makes it look like a different gun. It shows what a big difference a new stock can make. One of the great things about the Marauder is how many aftermarket accessories and upgrades are available off-the-shelf.

True, apparently there are more aftermarket things for the Gen 1 Mrod, than the Gen 2.

"Drumsnguns"I have been looking at these for my Marauder .25 Gen1. In the Crosman stock I'm having trouble with POI shift so I'd be curious if it might help. It sure makes things look cooler, that's for sure. I have a Maddog stock for my Condor Like it sooooo much more now.
I feel like my POI is more constant with my Mrods - I guess mainly because the Mad Dog stocks are so comfortable.

I know they grip easier that the factory stock.

What are you using your Marauder for? Do you primarily hunt or target shoot? Asking only because I spoke with Doug via email and he said that the Regular Shark is better on the bench and the Light, like your's, would be better in the field. I mainly target shoot but do occasional hunting when the squirrel population rises and they start to get cocky in the garden. So, just trying to get an idea of what will best suit me. If you've done some target shooting how does it perform? I just have a tendency of wanting to drop the weight on the Marauder...it's an ox.

Drumsnguns. When I contacted Doug, I too, was mainly trying to lessen the weight of the Mrod. But when I told him, I was shooting from a wheelchair (targets out in the yard), he recommended the Shark Light. He had made one for another wheelchair shooter and said that he'd recommend putting an angle on the butt stock, where it meets my shoulder, Doug said the other guy really liked that, so I said "Do it".

If you look at my pic again, and in your mind get both Mrods level, I think you'll see the cant on the shoulder-end of the Mad Dog's stock.

Anyway, I sure like that way the Shark Light fits my shoulder. When I took off the original Mrod stock, I weighed it on my bow scale and it weighed 1.3 lb more than the Shark Light. 1.3 lb doesn't sound like much, but I can definitely tell the Mrod is lighter than it used to be.

Frankly, I can't imagine a stock that feels better to me than the Shark Light. But then again, I've never shouldered a Regular Shark.

Take care,
Bobby
