SWFA tax day sale

Hi Joe
Have you tried the 3-15x with the reticle that has the bold square in the middle?

I am wondering if it would be useful for hunting.
Thanks
AJ

Joe I like the Nikon a lot , its a nice scope and I really like the dot cross hair . PS Joe NEVER apologize for being a Smart Ass !!! Its both of ours best quality !! :)
AJ I haven't owned one of those but I can tell you this . The milquad can be a little hard to pick up in very low light . I have a 6 power on my crossbow and it has mildot. Only reason being is its easier to see in very low shooting light . I would think the thick diamond would be very easy to pick up ! Don't get me wrong , the milquad isn't like invisible thin or anything . But I mainly just plink and shoot at thumbtacks and paintballs and such . But in this part of the country we do a lot of pig hunting so I have heavier crosshairs on guns to hunt .

I am in Long Island New York ,and i know you have been up late.

Thanks for the heads up Joe. I love me some SWFA scopes. Whenever I buy a new scope the first thing I do is compare it to my SWFA 3-15x42 ffp. For me it kind of sets the standard of what a mid-range priced scope should be.

I really like the mil-quad reticle. But I wish they would add a few hold-over windage dots. I'm trying to use the turrets more & more, but for quick shooting scenarios it lacks the extra windage dots options.

Is the sale smaller this year than usual? I was hoping the 5-20x50 HD model would be discounted more ;)

Hi Michael (Joe sorry to butt in)
How would you rate the clarity when comparing the SWFA at 15x to the Hawke Frontier at 15x?
I know its apples to oranges but I have yet to purchase a SWFA brand scope and have a Hawke
Frontier just like the one you had as well as a couple of MCT brand (Viper connect and Viper Pro)
scopes in addition to several Sidewinder 30s and Aeons. Which would it be closest in comparison
to, clarity and brightness-wise?
Thanks
AJ

I havent' had the pleasure of trying a MTC Viper Pro yet. I like the idea of a customizable yardage turret.

The Hawke Frontier line is a step above the Sidewinder line and the Aeon line. The Hawke TMX reticle is by far my favorite reticle. Comparing just the glass of the Frontier & the SWFA SS is almost a tie. Both have really nice glass. If you're into using hold-over & SFP then the Frontier line is a great choice. If you prefer dialing in your turrets & FFP then the SWFA is hard to beat.
