My streamline .25 ( updated)

My FX streamline laminate in .25 cal arrived today. I got the scope mounted, but wind conditions really didn't let me get her sighted in, other than getting the medium power zeroed at 12 yards for some back yard pest duty until then. That should give me second zero a little over 30 yards, and less than 1/2" travel above zero per chairgun. I did notice that zero shifted .25 right and .25 down from POA with the Donnyfl moderator installed. It returned to normal once removed, which makes me think it might be clipping a little at low powers. I inspected the moderator and it does look like an ever so slight mark on its way out that last end section. I might have to clean it up a little bit. It doesn't show in picture as well , but looks shiny with a chip to anodized area.

I am overall pleased so far. Even with the wind the shots were very consistent at 50 yards, but I want to adjust it when I get more time to play with the No limit mount. Per AOA's inspection sheet she is averaging about 914 fps on high which aligns to the few I did take over the chrony. What seemed very promising to me was the one .25 cal hole 5 shot group at 20 yards from their testing.

Setup includes:
Streamline .25 laminate
Aztec Emerald 5.5-25×50
Hawke Rail bubble level
Donnyfl sumo moderator
Harris bipod

I am definitely looking forward to working with her some, as well as her first pest taken.

So all is well will the Sumo. I did a shot string when I got home tonight on medium power and there was no deviation in pellet placement. I guess I wasn't expecting a shift in POI between moderator on and off. Here is the results of my 9 shot group ( chrony registered error on 1 of the 10 shots)

Pellet: JSB 25.39gr
Chrony: Competition Electronics ProChrono w/ indoor lighting kit.
Target: 12 yards
Rifle: 220 bar by rifle gage.

As you see point of impact slightly low from center hold, but shows pellets all going into one hole. The cardboard backer better shows the one .25 hole, but too many other holes on it to take picture.

I got to say I really like the Sumo, I will just need to zero with it on now. With the streamline on medium and Sumo in place this seams more like back yard stealthy.

Thanks FukoChan for the advise, and everyone else as well. I will update with more Chrony data and some longer range groups once I get her completely setup and have the time. I have a feeling she is really going to be a shooter.

EDIT: added my Chrony data to this thread for convenience.

Ehehhe no problem bud :). In some cases, moderators in firearms improve the accuracy and/or velocity. I wouldn't hold it against air rifles to be sometimes, be able to do the same. Firearms too get a slight poi change with moderators. Common signs of clipping is sporadic groups. You could tell because the pellets would be maybe 8-12 inches off target. Then you would diagnose and ask oneself: is it shroud alignment or moderator clipping?

The most important attribute for any suppressor system is its concentricity (centering) with respect to the bore (barrel). Even .005 of an inch (five thousandth) is enough to change the POI, sometimes drastically. Thus the question... Is it the suppressor or the barrel threading that's off a bit? Personally, I've seen both, and the selling price means nothing.

"FunGun"Dave, your killing me! When do we get to see what she does on high power? lol.
well, here she goes.

I went out after work today to sight in on high power at 50 yards, and shoot some groups. I will say this up front, the gun shoots better than I do at this point. My table was a plastic folding table that was hard to get a steady shot from. If you look closely you can see the folding point just forward of the front sandbag. I will have to see what she can really do when I can get to my local range with the leadsled on a solid bench.

The first group after sight in was slightly over an 1" with one flyer making it 1.5". I really didn't take in account for wind since it was pretty light to nothing at all, but kept shifting direction a little.

First group at 50 yards with Donnyfl Sumo installed 25.39gr Jsb @ 912 FPS. Left and right shift was probably mostly me and a little due to wind.

The second group was with the Donnyfl Sumo removed which is why its a little higher. 25.39gr Jsb @ 916 FPS aim point center of circle. The main group was a little under .875" and my fliers made it 1.875 "

This last one is a 100yrds with Donnyfl installed. I was using a different subtention holdover for the top 2 shots, the rest were with what strelock said was correct holdover. Group measured 2.75" and excluding those two shots measured 1.875"

I know with a solid bench and some practice I can tighten up the groups. I still have a lot to learn in rifle shooting, as I have mainly been a pistol shooter. It might not be an impressive start, but we all got to start somewhere.

Edit: I used a hand pump after every 2 mags shots, and did this twice before shooting my groups.

I might go out tomorrow and try a few groups prone with my sandbags and see what results I get.

I went back out this morning it was 68° F with a very light breeze. This time I took my range mat and sandbags to shoot from prone. I loaded all pellets by hand, and only sorted out pellets with more than light dent to skirt, but no sorting by weight. Since I use this rifle for pesting I shot all groups with the Sumo installed.

I ended up doing only 3 shot groups, because the wind kept changing on me and I am not good at judging the wind yet. I think a weatherflow meter is in the near future to help with this. I did notice improvement in group size including the 10 shot groups I started with today.

Typical 3 shot group from 50 yards. High power setting.

This was my best of the day below.

I end up cutting it short and headed to the driving range to get some groundhogs, but didn't see any as I think it was a little late in the morning, so I packed up and went home.
I noticed the behemoth groundhog in my back yard when I was unloading my stuff, so I rushed inside to try and setup for a shot.

I will post results here:

I have to say that so far I am loving the Streamline, and she is proving to be a good hunter.
