Squirrel Season in GA this Sat

Georgia squirrels better watch out! Squirrel season starts here on Saturday. While I have had to take a few out already this year as pests in the yard, I look forward to taking my .25 Marauder into the woods and looking for them "for real." The Mrod is clean and sighted in, as is my wife's Discovery. I was impressed by the Mrod in particular. Several months spent in its case and it was still dead on target. Previous to this, I have turned to my Benjamin Titan .22 to take out squirrels chewing on the back deck. Everyone winds up in the crock pot, or as of this coming weekend in the Dutch oven.

Opening weekend in GA was a success! The wife and I went out Sat morning, while I got out Sat evening and Sunday morning as well. I fired my .25 Mrod 5 times. Got 3 and missed 2. The misses were very near, spooking the crap out of a couple squirrels, but without that gruesome K-POCK of a successful headshot. The best shot was approximately 45 yards at a male about 30 feet up a hickory. I'd post a pic, but see no way to do it unless the pic is already on the web and gets linked here. Am I right, or is there a way to upload pics to the forum?

The wife couldn't get a clear shot on her first morning, but there will be plenty more times to try. The squirrels are cutting high in the hickories here right now, and will move onto acorns after that. While Permithrine did its job keeping ticks and chiggers off me, more than enough spiders got under my clothes and bit the crap out of me. The price of a great weekend in the woods.
