well it was a slow rainy wet day in western Mass for the start of squirrel season. only saw 3 over the 4 hours we were out, but managed to bag 1 and a few chippers. I was usuing my AA410 in .22 shooting JSB 18gr.
I had pressure cooked squirrel stew in mushroom soup for dinner tonight. Delicious. People can say what they want about tree rats but they don’t know what they are missing.
I think squirrel tastes like meaty almonds, I like mine slow cooked and deboned then cooked up either carnitas or fajita style on a toasted corn tortilla with guac or mango salsa and a bit of jalapeno
