Hi gang I had the pleasure of meeting kazooRitchie yesterday at the SMGC gun club. I have to say I was very impressed with the members and the very nicely laid out range they have built. They have a covered 10 stage shooting platform with a nice concrete floor, 10 ambidextrous stable tables, 100 yard solid backstop and each side has a nice earth berm. They also have 10 lanes for field shooting. Each lane is cut about 4 foot wide cut into some thick cover. This gives you the feeling that you are actually in a hunting situation and you can't see the lanes on either side of you. Very nice and both show the hard work and pride these guys put into making this one heck of a club.
In addition to this they have a canopy of trees covering a nice picnic area with plans to bring electrical outlets out.
I was introduced to everyshooter that showed up and I think I shot at least one rifle that each member owned. I learned a lot during the hours I was there and it was time to go home before I knew it.
It's a 1 1\4 hour drive for me but it is worth the drive over and I know I will be making the trip more this summer.
Almost for got to mention they have a wide selection of targets to shoot...I really liked having so many options to shoot at.
Again a big thank you out to Chris and Rich and all the rest of the gang for making me feel so welcome. Now I just have to decide on the rifle and equipment I want.
