Side-shot and Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50 30mm Issue Fixed

I had the same issue with my Side-Shot scope cam's top locking bolt/nut not clearing the illuminated reticle's battery cap on an Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50 30mm scope that Dirte reported.

Removing the scope's battery cap allowed the Side-Shot to clear it, but I didn't like leaving the battery cap off. I decided that if I filed the bolt down some and could find a smaller diameter, thinner knurled thumb nut then the Side-Shot would clear it. If I couldn't find a replacement nut, I was just going to leave the nut off.

I emailed Side-Shot to explain my issue and planned modifications as a FYI for their future redesign consideration. But Side-Shot said let them see what they could do. The same day they milled two new different size nuts for me and had shipped them. I filed the bolt on the Side-Shot down enough to clear the cap and today installed the smaller of the two new nuts. The issued has been resolved!!! The scope-cam works great...

I am so impressed with Side-Shot's customer service. They not only have an excellent product, but they treat their customers the right way.

They did mention that their scope cam clears most scope's illumination knobs without any modification.

Hynzie,

I'm very pleased with the Side-Shot, but I don't have much experience using it yet. I used the Side-Shot setup video, instead of the included written directions. It took just a couple of minutes to install and adjust. I will not need to make any further adjustments. The scope cam can now be taken off / on and be ready to go. The mount is very well designed and is rock solid.... I would buy it again.

I'm considering buying an app called Filmic Pro that allows better focus and light adjustment than my iPhone. You can also save those adjustments as the default. I want to play with the scope cam and iPhone as is first before adding this app.
