RWS Diana 54 Airking

I have two 52's .22 and .177 ( i would LOVE to find a 52 in .20 cal)
and a 48 in .22
personally I think the 48/52 platform is very under appreciated
I shot a friends 54 Airking and it is a sweet shooting rifle.
the only thing I would complain about is the weight, I would not want to carry it for any length of time.
but that is also why it shoots as nice as it does...

Thinking you are more of a hunter ( ? ) the 54 would suit you. I've had a 48/52 with absolutely everything that could be done to it, didnt really need all that work but outstanding just the same. Found an RWS54 w/T01 trigger on craigslist for $225.00 and yes it needed to be re-built as the owner was shooting hyper light ammo, still a value. Easily rebuilt w/JM parts they DO feel recoil-less , they can eat a scope, even the little misses ( who HATES springers) enjoyed shooting the 54 and has no issue getting excellent groups at 25yards - what we had-. 1st time she tried it was a dime sized group and keep in mind before she fired it she was afraid of it, then when it "just sit's there" smiles alll the way around. I shot that one a good bit at 115 yards and managed many quarter sized groups, under nearly ideal circumstances off a bag.
A bit heavy for me too carry these days but that's just age, doesnt weight all that much.

No shortage of Magnum springers these days but not many seem to hold up to the Quality of the 54 then figure in the recoilless, nothing is close to the same.
10m or target shooting to 50 yards a 300 would be nice or the one I like best the RWS 75.

Right before she started grinning

It seems a realistic price for a decent used one is right around $400.00 but less if you could fine one in good mechanical but hutned with.

Guess I didn't specifically say, it does put the smackdown on varmints/critters.

I just got my RWS 48 last week (the combo package). I have to say I had no idea you could constantly hit that small a target with a air rifle. I was impressed with the overall package.

My only suggestion would be that any gun that heavy should come with sling mounting. I set mine up with a sling this weekend.

When spring comes this year and I am outside again; gofers beware! I have only shot the JSB 15.8 so far, I am going to try different pellets. but I don't know why; the JSB's 15,8 are DEAD ON and repeatable.

The fact Is, I have never owned a "quality" air rifle. The NEW fact is, now that I do, I don't plan to ever be without one! Only problem I can see with this rifle in the future is, Which Grand kid to give it to when I kick off--LOL

Blackdiesel my 54 is called "The Beast" not only for it's size but also for it's power. It's the only springer I own that's zeroed at 50 yards, and is a pleasure to shoot off a bench without having to use an artillery hold or deal with recoil. It's pellet of choice is the H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66g, which my R9 prefers, also. Good luck with your venture.

I'm mainly a PCP guy. I got springers pretty much to shoot in the back when I didn't want to bother with grabbing a tank to shoot. Also, I wanted to make sure I had a good quality springer around. I recently bought a 177 & 22 cal Gauntlet (22 arriving Wed), and planning to get larger 23ci bottles for both. So, the springers might be sitting around more and more. Both of these should get around 120-140 shots per fill so I won't have to worry about grabbing a tank when I shoot them.

Geezer my 48 shoots JSB 15.89 and 18.13 gr pellets very well, it's favorite is H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 gr in 5.53mm. My advice would be to buy pellet sampler packs, you get a lot of different pellets to try and it saves some money over buying full tins of pellets that your rifle will not like. I didn't do this with my 48 although I was advised to, but I did when I purchased my 37 in .177.
