Raccoons with FX wildcat .22

last nite we set up so we could see my Henhouse. These coons had also been into my brothers chickens. A fetal error for them. We set up in the upper room of the old farmhouse so we can see the entire coop which is well lit by the pole light. The first raccoon appeared around 9:50 PM we saw a total of 12 Coons and were able to put a fatal headshot on two of them. We are going to try again tonight. I had no idea what to expect from the wildcat shooting a 18.1 JSB so I had my brother with a henry repeating rifle 22 caliber on standby, however it was

not needed both animals were dead before they hit the ground. I will post again tomorrow with results.

I had imagined a pack of coons raiding your chickens like a horde of Genghis Mongols, packing the .25 with bandoliers of ammo wrapped around d their bodies. I was wondering what kind of scope they were using, the little buggers are smart enough to fire the air gun but their short little arms would make eye relief hard to achieve.

Oh boy I think I had too much sleep....

Give them hell!

I just plugged a young coon this evening with my new model 85 Hatsan 22 cal...used crossman premier hollow points...my first time hunting with the gun vs target shooting but I knew the gun was amazingly accurate...hit him right between the eyes...dropped him immediately from about 15 yards...really surprising...not my old Daisy 10 pump! thats for sure.
