Pyramyd Air pellet quality

I have had simmilar issues myself.... pyramid reshipped the order to me no charge but i got essentially the same thing, pellets that used to shoot amazing shoot terribly now (JSB diablo exact havies 18.13 grain domes, H&N huter extreem 19grain) and the pellets that used to shoot mediocre still shoot mediocre (crossman premire hollow points). i am going to try a new barrel just to confirm it is the pellets I guess ,or parhaps have my buddy shoot my pellets and his pellets in both our guns (he has gen 2 synrod in .22) side by side but right now i will miss 1/10 shots on a pop can @ 50 yards and that to me is unacceptable!

I just received (4) 500 count tins of JSB Exact Jumbo 15,89 grain pellets from Pyramyd Air this afternoon. Having read this post, I inspected each tin and only found a few pellets with skirt damage. They shipped all 4 tins stacked and sandwiched between foam squares with cutouts for the tins. In my opinion,tThey have the best pellet shipping packaging in the industry.

The one thing that struck me as being odd was that each tin was sealed with red tape which I haven't seen in a long time. Also, each tin had the old style grocery labels on the bottoms showing the head size of 5.52. Typically, JSB pellets from PA have the generic bar code labels shown below:

The tins I received all had the older grocery store type sticker like the following:

I haven't had a chance to shoot any of these pellets yet and will report back if they shoot abnormally.

A year ago I made a huge pellet order from PYA and they were very well packed. There were a few damaged skirts but not many. I feel it is the shipper tossing and dropping heavy packages. I have had boxes containing a lot, 50 pounds, of centerfire ammo accordioned on both ends. With that kind of treatment I can understand how thin pellet skirts could be damaged. From my first smaller and later huge order I think they do the best they can to get you the ammo in the best possible condition. Just my experience with two orders.

"don_h"i had a bad experience with 2 tins of jsb jumbo heavy diabolo ... they were shipped in a plastic shipping bag ... i was not to happy to get a bag full of 1000 pellets ... lots of deformed skirts ... wrote them a complaint email, no responce ... moving on to other vendors

That doesn’t sound like how PA ships pellets. Is it possible that the shipper damaged the packaging and re-packaged?

Don_h: I've also purchased over 20K pellets from PA and NEVER have they shipped pellets in a plastic bag, not sure if the pellets you recieved came from them but thats what I've gotten from you're post, sorry to hear that but i'm sure it didn't leave PA that way.

Blackd: PA just sells them, doesn't package them. But if there is a problem with the pellets they sold you, I know you can send them back and they will replace them (within a timely manor).

zfirffritz : i do not know what happened but just to see ... i ordered jsb pellets from aoa and arigundepot and both orders came with tins in foam and in cardboard boxes ... the no response to my email was a deal killer for me ... moving on ... not looking back ... shot up 3/4 of the pellets chronographing and testing non-regulated vs regulated 22 cal pcp ... looking / considering a 25 cal maybe fx or falcon

thank for your responces ... don h

I ordered 4 tins from Pyramid Air and pretty much all tins are BOOTYFUL! By that they took extra quality packing material so that none of the pellets became deformed or anything of that sort. I mean i bet you could drop from a 3 story building and most of the pellets would be fine. Pellets themselves are 80-90% fine.
