Pyramid has a policy that is not in customers interest

Pyramid has a policy that is not in customers interest and I’ve been told it’s not going to change so don’t waste your time complaining.

First let me say I am happy with their pricing and service and in general they are a pleasure to deal with. I just find it annoying when purchasing pellets with their buy 4 get 1 free policy . This policy only works to the customers advantage if you only buy in a single order pellets at a single price. Buy 12 cans of a $18 pellet and no other pellets you will get 3 for free. Great! However if you added 4 cans of a $7 dollar pellet to that same order you will get 4 $7 cans for free and pay for 12 $18 cans. When I first complained my reasoning was I want to be able to do my ordering in one order rather than 2 to minimize the shipping cost. I know this can be easily fixed by whoever programs their web site but they won’t do it even if you call in the order. Maybe if others can complain to them they will make a change, we can only hope.

I just thought of an easy resolution programming wise to this complaint. Just have it on the site were if you order 4 cans or more in pellets you get a 25% discount on that part of your order, hopefully they consider this solution.

I understand that logic of wanting the more expensive pellets for free. But I also am in business and I want to make money. If you use our promotional "buy 1 get 1 free" deal it says "get one of same or lesser value, free". that is because I want to make it fair for me too. I want your business but I don't want to be cheated either. Before I added that statement I would have people come in and order one sandwich with the bare minimum. then get another one with extra meat and all the toppings. So which one do you think I SHOULD give them free? Remember this is suppose to be fair/good deal for both of us. I give them the lesser value free. And some would complain? Why? You are STILL getting something FREE! Fair for both is much better than fair for just one. For me, fair for just one would be, you pay full price for both. I offer my food at a very fair price.

So, I usually buy $150 worth of pellets at a time anyway, so I just order all the same kind and get the deal I want. If there are others I want, I just place a second order for those and pay the small shipping for those 4 cans. :)

I am grateful Pyramid offers buy 4 and pay for 3. Over $150 free shipping. One other supplier offers a similar deal. I buy about 4000 JSB .25 each time. This is buying in bulk. the supplier sends one employee out to fill orders in the warehouse. Snatching 2 cases of the shelf is less time spent then picking out 2 of this and 4 of that, and individual packing for each different kind. The more the supplier consistently orders the less he pays ( buying in bulk) and he can pass it on. I read the forum and bought 1 JSB tin, they worked, now that's all I buy, no hunting around trying these and those. Buy 1 anything at the hardware store. Now buy 100 at home depot ( they buy in bulk). Note the difference in price. Pyramid wants your business, They like buying in bulk and encourage you to buy in bulk. They want to stay in business and enlarge the customer base. You want to pay less. Expect to pay more for a few tins. That is not buy in bulk. I buy .22 lr in bricks of 500 or if possible a case of bricks. I don't pay $8 for a box of 50. Now matter where you go you will pay shipping they just don't write it on the bill. You buy in bulk there is an incentive for the supplier to lower costs and reduce or wave shipping. Usually you must buy the EXACT samething is case lots. Pyramid and only one other supplier offer to cut the cost and ship free. I'm will continue to encourage them by purchases ( not just pellets) and through the forum. Good Luck. To all who read this to the end Merry Christmas HAPPY NEW YEAR Long life, good health, prosperity, happiness. GBGUNNER

I just want to clarify what I meant to say in my original post.
First of all I purchase all of my JSB pellets from Pyramid. My problem with them is that they don't let you get the buy 3 get 4 on different products at the same time. If I want 12 $15 items and 12 $8 items on the same order instead of getting 9 and 3 free of each I would get 6 free on the $8 item only. So I wind up having to make multiple orders. It also makes it impossible to add 1 can of a different ammo to your order to try out. what I should of said about pyramid is that it's inconvenient to please orders. When I do get ammo I wait for them to have a sale and I do it in separate orders for each caliber unless they are priced the same. Essentially they are giving you a 25% discount. why can't the just do away with buy 4 get 1 free and just give a straight discount of 25%. That way you could save on shipping by only having to place 1 order.
I probably buy $700 in ammo every year so I can have what I need for my shooting without worrying about the dry spells when some items disappear from the stores, but that's another subject.
Wishing all of you a
Merry Christmas to you and the family as well as a Happy New Year.

Hang on a second, I want to see if I am processing this correctly. Pyramid Air decided to give their customers a small reward when they buy pellets in a small "bulk" package. They want to encourage people buying in bulk because they can sell more pellets, and at the same time provide the customer with a little bonus for doing business with them. So they decide to offer you one FREE package of pellets if you buy 3 packs, andj you will get the 4th free. Your complaint is that they are not giving you the free package of pellets you want?

Um...I mean they don't have to give you anything for free, right?

Your definitely not following what I’m trying to get across. My problem is if I ordered 4 can of pellets at $17 each I would only have to pay for 3 the forth is free. That is fine no problem what I don’t like is if I wanted to try a $5 can just to see if I like it and added it to that same order I would wind up paying $17 X 4 and the $5 one is free . That’s what I don’t like. Essentially the deal Is supposed to be giving you 25% off id rather see a 25% discount on all pellet sales 4 cans or more that way you can mix up your order .

I think I understand you just fine, we are just coming at it from two different perspectives. The way I view it PA doesn't have to give me any discount. I guess I don't feel entitled to anything free from PA, but I sure do appreciate it. I agree that it would be nice, but I don't hold it against them as a rule for not giving me a discount or free pellets. You are inferring a 25% discount, but I don't see anything on their website which indicates they are trying to give 25% off. It appears to me PA has set up the system exactly how it was designed to be, as I imagine it would not be possible to give everyone that buys 3 packages of pellets a completely free package at anywhere fro $5 - $20 a pop.
