pretty proud of this....

TedI agree re: the .20. If I lived in the UK and didn't have an FAC, I would opt for that calibre for small game. Pellet selection is limited, but JSB makes a darn good .20, so who cares? :)

I've not yet tried the JSB pellets. I've got about 4000 crossman accupell to get through yet..... Yikes....

They're definitely on my list though. I might have to get a sample pack and see if they fit my magazine.

The .22s work a treat in my old GunPower Stealth so it'll probably be sooner rather than later.

That bunny will make a mean goulash. I take my legs and loin and put them in a brine with vinegar, olive oil, and some spices ( rosemary, sweet basil, and some oregano, oh and some salt and pepper) then in the fridge for a day.

this is my Italian grand mother's recipe. Then rinse the meat and then fry the meat in a pan. Then I put the meat in a dish for the oven with some gravy sauce and tomatoes, and some potatoes. In the oven for an hour at 250 degrees. While the bunny is cooking, I start the salad and then cook the rice.

dinner is usually ready in about an hour and a half.

Norcal_MattI wish we got the tasty ones around here. All I've seen are jacks. I certainly don't mean this to sound like I'm an ass, but is 24 yards a difficult range with a sub 12ft lb rifle? I'm truly curious and hope that doesn't sound harsh.

There's no true answer.

For an airgun god like Ted a 24 yard shot with an 11.96 ftlb gun would be a breeze but for someone like me who is only just getting confident with my new gun in a new calibre it's a fairly complicated ordeal. Presumably you're in the states (no offence if you're not) but my humble Theoben .20 isn't an 80 ftlb .30cal FX boss, it's a pea shooter by comparison however it's incredibly accurate.

So there's no straight answer.

:)

As a Brit who was really into air guns and books about them in the UK, the air gun hunter books all recommended keeping the distance for shooting rabbits at under 30 yards with the 12fpe air guns. I am sure longer distances are possible but 30 yards was being suggested as the maximum to ensure a humane kill. The magazines also gave stalking info to help you to get close enough for the kill since it is no easy task to get really close to the little hoppers, great eating by the way, one of my favorite meats, Neil.

PS, My reading was done in the late 90's and things may have changed since then.

Yeah, when I read ".20 cal" I was thinking of my Sheridan, too. Seems plenty of gun till I start reading about the guys here taking wild boar! I loved the beeman silver arrow in .20, very accurate in my gun and heavy but I can't seem to find them any more. I hope they haven't discontinued them. At any rate Essexairhunt, my gun is .20 cal and not too powerful like yours, I'd be proud of a clean kill at that distance too. Nice shot!
