Over/under numbers on shots before Nikon gives up?

I have detuned my TX-200 in .177 to 12 FPE with a Vortek kit, and decided to upgrade my scope. Since it shoots milder and sweeter now, I decided to risk a Nikon EFR to replace the UTG glass. Anyone care to guess how many trigger pulls with 7.33 grain pills before new scope gets crazier than a 3 year old on Mountain Dew and Hershey bars?

Hmmm. good question. I don't know much about the Nikon EFR series, but do have a question. Is it a etched glass reticle, or is the reticle some sort of wire? If it's etched glass, it might last a very long time.

If it is a wire reticle, could be your next shot, could be years from now. Just no way, so far as I know, to tell.

I bought one, and when it arrived, it was broken! The replacement was okay, but it failed too. I don't remember how many shots I took before it did, but it was less than a week. This, of all things, on a 397 Benjamin! Never again!

Update: I didn't realize that Nikon was built for rimfire AND air rifles! Fifty rounds today and so much nicer to use than the first scope. By the end of the session, I was hitting a fly-sized aimpoint four out of five tries at 50 feet. I'm happy with it.

I have at least 5,000 shots on my Nikon EFR and all is well. Great scope that should last years if not decades on my .177 pro sport.
