Huma regulated Renegade HR. No details yet

Seems Daystate has resisted at all cost putting mechanical regulators in their guns. I like their electronic equivalent. I think it has far more potential for advancements in consistency and user adjustability than a mechanical regulator. But reliability and cost are the downside to electronics. Customer confidence seems to be lacking too. When the electronics work, they're great. But when they stop working, their expensive. Few are brave enough to spend $2500 on an electronic airgun and then worry about a costly electronic failure. Peace of mind sells. Mechanical regulators are relatively inexpensive to make and to repair. I think Daystate will be more competitive with a mechanical regulator. I only hope Daystate doesn't quit trying to improve their electronic system. All other things being equal, I'd choose an electronic system.

I'd love to have one of Daystate's electronic wonders, Michael. But I'd lay awake at night in fear of a costly repair. I very much look forward to Daystate's advancement of their electronics. But will they ever be as reliable and inexpensive to repair as a mechanical system? I really dig the idea of a "smart airgun". Of all the advancements in airgun technology that we've seen of late, I see more potential in electronics than anything else. But I doubt that I'll ever be able to afford it, much less be able to maintain it. Good on those who can.

"Deja"about time, kinda expected more of that electro wizardry tho :(
edit: and a redesign since its hella ugly not sure if this one or Galahad is the worst looking pup ever.
Do you refer to the Renegade as including the electronic wizardry or other guns? If so, they already made one, it’s called the Pulsar. I frankly think they will sell a S61t load of regulated Renegades.

Looks are always subjective. I actually like the looks of the Galahad, they just seem to have quality control issues (as per PA reviews). Renegade is not ugly to me either, but I’m not crazy about the design.

Either way, I hope they step up to the plate, cause their lunch is getting eaten by others. I’m looking forward to their offerings.

Yup, the Renegade has the electronic trigger but the standard valve system where the Pulsar has the full electronic setup.

Daystate’s problem in my opinion is that they weren’t quick to realize the market shift towards higher calibers and regulators in general. Their rifles are beautiful and the electronic system works great but they didn’t have anything that could compete at the mid tier and lower end of the price spectrum. Also, they need to get better with marketing. They should take a lesson from FX and get their rifles in the hands of reviewers and YouTube personalities and sponsor more events in the US.

+1 Maineiac, I will go further to suggest that they read forums like these, look at what the competition is doing / being successful at, and sales totals as to adjust their model. Also the biggest thing, specially here in the USA, is the lack support. Airguns are more of a niche product here than firearms. If, huge IF, had trouble with my .308 Browning or my Sig p938, I would have no problem finding a local Smith that will take care of it. Even if they had detailed step by step videos on DIYs repair (more than the very little now offered) would be a huge win for them. Frankly, a 3 year guarantee is fantastic, but having to ship it all the way across the country any time you had a problem (which sometimes are often) is for the dogs and it's expensive.

I will tell you what. If they made a Regulated Wolverine C 2, like the one available in England, but in FAC to include their anti double indexing, auto rotating magazine, and maybe throw in a lever and an electronic trigger, Now that I would be all over like flies on poo.

"intenseaty22"Yeah....but no. I mean, it's nice, but not $3K nice in my book. The 5 year (transferable!) warranty is, WOW, very nice. But again, I really don't want to ship guns to AZ any time there is a problem with it. If I lived there, another story. Shot show is tomorrow I think. Will see what else shows up. Thanks for sharing Maineiac.
Since they’re showing the special edition right now there’s most likely going to be a normal edition with a walnut or laminate stock closer to the $2k mark.

Daystate always does this - puts out an expensive limited edition before releasing one for the masses.
