A low down ****** scammer scum-bag just tried this one on me so I thought I'd share their new trick to make sure nobody else falls for it.
It's actually quite clever. I might be impressed if my heart wasn't filled with violence and range toward them.
First, they put an almost too good to be true used product listing on Amazon. You know the sort. The best deal you've seen on something you want but not too cheap to make you assume it is definitely a scam. E.g. An $850 Weaver scope for $500. Plus, it's Amazon and they give you your money back if they don't send the goods, so you don't worry.
Then.... a few hours later while you are busy telling everyone here what a great deal you got, you receive an official looking Amazon order cancellation notice which tells you the seller cancelled the order and that you have not been charged.
You then forget about it because, if you've not been charged then no harm right...
I nearly fell for this but for some reason, an alarm went off in my head (not literally) and I double checked the sender's address. Not Amazon. So I check my bank account and sure enough, I have actually been charged...
The hope is that, like many (or most) of us who don't regularly check our bank transactions in detail, we won't notice the money missing in time to raise a claim. If you believe you haven't been charged, you don't raise a claim when nothing arrives right?
Anyway... this scum-bag won't get $0.01 of this Zebra's hard earned bread. Make sure they don't get any of yours either!
