New or Used- which do you prefer, and why, when perchacing an airgun

I have had good luck buying used, Both because buying from an experienced Air Gunner helped me get some really good tips and second they had already done all the hard work tweaking and working the bugs out.
I am not going to say anything negative about any certain manufactures or dealers but New Air Guns seems to have some small bugs that needs to be worked out. For someone who isn't experienced in this hobby it can be a daunting (and dangerous) situation, taking an air gun apart and attempting to fix these issues themselves.
HERE IS MY SUGGESTION for anyone new to the hobby and is looking for a good starter Adult Air Rifle, Look in the classifieds and find some that fits your budget and of course preference, then look at the sellers profile and click on the forum tab in their profile, read the posts they have made and kind of get to know the type of person they are, Read the replies they have made on others post ( focus on ones that others are asking for help with this or that problem) see how they replied and you will learn a lot about the knowledge of the person. Look at the accuracy page and read feedback from other members. Look at what other items they have sold. You can learn a lot about how that person is going to take care of there air guns by doing this. A little research and you could find a very good starter air gun of higher quality in your budget that may be better than what it would come to you new.
That being said If you do buy new then I would say this if you want to buy a platform that you don't want to have to tinker with or work out bugs then don't buy a model that is completely new to the market, Instead buy a model that has been floating around the market for a few years this give the manufacturer time to correct any bugs that has popped up that a brand new model may not have. It will also let you do some research and read about any issues that it has or has had in the past and give you a better idea of what you are buying.

TonyL Welcome to a very addictive hobby brother, and although I don't know what your other 10 hobbies are I can almost bet you will find its a world of it own.
