New FLEX .30 takes down 3Jacks(graphic)

Hey guys, been a very exciting few days here. Yesterday Travis from Wicked Air Rifles invited me to come check out a new prototype .30 rifle him and Jim Gaska have been working on. I was very excited as I'm allways interested to see new state of the art guns. My first impression of the gun was WOW!! Very different look from anything else I have seen. The gun is very sturdy looking and the frame is a single piece of aluminum that uses AR furnature. The gun also has a rail system that allows easy adjustment of accessories such as a bi-pod or go pro camera. The gun uses a marauder style 7 shot magazine and fills easy to 3000psi and was shooting JSBs as high as 970fps. The gun has a 1"shroud with air stripper, fully tensioned 17"TJ barrel that can be removed without pulling gun apart or removing the scope. The trigger is utilizing a Remington 700 match grade trigger by Timney Inc. Its a side bolt design with retracting bolt to move out of air path.No bounce hammer and high flow valve. Changing springs and power adjustments are easy. Travis told me he wanted this to be a gun that the average Joe can work on without difficulty. The weight was pretty good coming in at 8lbs without the scope, production model will most likely be a tad lighter.Travis to my surprise asked me to take the gun for a day or two and hunt with it. I was excited to try this gun out,we spent about an hour sighting it in at 80yrds as I was going to head out with it early this morning. Here are a few pics I took of Travis adjusting the hammer tention showing how easy it is. I left with the gun and was very honored to be the first to hunt with this .30 FLEX rifle. This morning I got up and left my house about 3:00am and made the drive to the Desert Jungle hoping to get a Jackrabbit kill. I arrived just before the sun came up and decided to hike out to an area that I know to be busy with Jacks. Both my packs were full as I wasnt sure how long I would go,brought my buddy bottle, water, snacks and plenty of JSBs. The area was very sandy with rolling hills that made for good spots to sniper them from a distance. I knew the gun would shoot 100+yrds easy, problem was the wind was gusting over 35mph.My first kill was sitting 50yrds downhill from me between two Joshua trees. The THWAPP was right below his neck and he fell over without any wild twitching.I was pleased with my first kill, the Jack was quite large too"11lbs." Kept moving towards the South where I planned to explore a different area and as I was walking could see a few juveniles running about.By this time it was getting warmer with still plenty of wind, although wind makes stalking much easier.Shot at a few GS that were climbing through some of the fallen Joshua Trees. Was fun to just get a feel for the gun and I will say the handle made walking with it a whole lot easier. After shooting through my magazine I stopped in a big open field to refill the gun from my buddy bottle and to take a break. As I sat and had a smoke I could see a Jackrabbits ears moving along the grass in the next field over.Grabbed the gun and slowley headed over trying to stay low to the ground to not spook him.I was able to get within 60yrds where I felt comfortable to make the shot,he stood up on his hind legs and THWAPP,right trough his leg and into his chest. He flopped down to the ground and went limp,no movement. At this point I was getting tired and started my loop back to where I parked my tuck, about 4miles.About a mile into it I came to a large field surrounded by Joshua trees with a few scattered knee high bushes in the middle, perfect spot. Soon i spotted the ears and was able to use the bipod to keep me steady for the shot. Was able to make a good heart lung shot, ran for about 4ft and collapsed. What a great hunt today was, that gun put quite the wallop down on all three of those Jacks.I hiked the rest of the way back to my truck and headed out to WAR to return the gun and give him my possitive feedback. The only thing I suggested was a front sling stud and dust cap for the fill port.Travis was right on top of it realizing those two things as well. As we were talking I noticed a ground squirrel running along his driveway at 200yrds,he picked up that gun and was able to kill it with a 4 1/2mil holdover. Very impressive shooting Travis, thanks again for allowing me to participate!

"Adam"That thing is sexy. Not too sure about the sliding bit for the bipod mount. Seems superfluous on this gun. Maybe if that rail itself was a picatinny. Was there any play in it?
The rail is an option and a picatinny is also avail from what i was told. No play in it at all, slides forward and back with locking nut, comes handy in situations where you need bipod further forward or back. I prefered it all the way forward though.
