skohl, thanks for that ! My Omega 75 cu-ft carbon fiber tank is almost down to the point where it will be unable to fill my FX Impact .30 bottle to 250 bar. I am really looking forward to seeing how long it actually takes for my Charger to fully charge my tank from 3,626 psi (250 bar) to 4,500 psi (310bar). Your one hour from 3,000 psi to 4,500 psi on the 75 cu-ft tank sounds in line with Matt's 45 minute fill from 3,626 psi to 4,500 psi (from what little I know about physics!) I've also heard that the Omega Air Charger runs cool, and have generally heard nothing but good thangs

"marcella69"bltefft, I'm glad to hear you say that! I'm one gun bottle fill from my Omega 75 cu-ft 4,500 psi tank away from using my new Omega Air Charger for the first time to fill my tank. I have my Charger all set-up and ready to go. She's been sitting in my bedroom for a week or two now lookin' sexy ;-)! I want to see how long my Air Charger takes to fill my tank under normal operating conditions (tank partially filled, but just at the point where it will not fill my bottle to 250 bar). How long does it take to fill your 66 cu-ft tank? (is it already partially filled?)

You know, I keep meaning to time the fill-up, but dang-it get caught up in the process and forget to time it.

My 66 cu.ft tank was partially filled both times I've charged it. It was down to 3000 psi, which is my "re-charge" point.

One thing I have to watch. The manual says to crack the moisture bled valve every fifteen minutes, I do. But on one occasion, I became alarmed when I realized that my air tank was loosing pressure, not building. I was baffled, and when I turned the Air Charger off, I could hear air leaking. The thought, "Oh, NO!" my brand new Air Charger is leaking. Then, I listened closer and discovered that I had not turned the moisture valve far enough to seal it - that's where the air was leaking out. When I snugged the knob down a little more, the air leak stopped and the compressor went on take the air tank on up to 4500 psi. I couldn't hear the little air leak as long as the compressor was running. I reckon that if I ha left it unattended, it would have drained my air tank, while working itself to death.

Even though I have the Air Charger set to cut off at 4500 psi, I still take a look at it frequently - I like to see it working.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, bltefft. Actually, I used to be baffled as to how the Omega Air Charger pressure bleed valve could be the same as the moisture bleed valve! I was conflating the time it took to bleed the small hose on my tank with the time it would take to bleed the tank! Jeesh! Sometimes, I look back on how ignorant I was and think, "How could I be so dumb?!". But, then I realize that everyone who is great at something was once lousy at it ;-)
