new airgun time - Cabelas option vs others

Hey all,

I've decided to get back into an airgun for general pest control (squirrels and starlings). I have a .177 Gamo hunter sport. I can't seem to get the Gamo to do much of anything that isn't a shotgun blast pattern at 20 yards and I figure it's time to spend some money to get something better.
I was initially looking at a .22, but ran into the following at my local Cabelas.

It appears to be a made for Cabelas model. Can anyone commend on if it's worth exploring? If not, what would you recommend? I would be prepared to be in the $300-$400 range with scope if the extra money buys a lot more quality. Please let me know if you can help. I'm open for less headaches than what I've had with my current Gamo.
Thank you

$250 is about what you'll need to pay for some version of a 34.
What the extra $$'s pay's for IS QC.
The 34 is a modern legend and the latest T-06 trigger top's it off.
Either would be fun but the 34 will group well enough ( and the trigger is good enough) to shoot Field Target and/or head shots on Squirrels at 40 yards, you do see 34 at some competitions but out of a couple hundred FT shoots I was the only one I ever saw use a Gamo and that was strictly for giggles using a 4x duplex reticule.

awesome info sir, I'm looking pretty hard at these for the "buy once, cry once" mentality

Well, you have to first remember, because, say, Crosman owns Centerpoint and Benjamin, doesn't mean they also build them. They don't. Ford was the same way. Owned other companies, but they otherwise ran themselves. My/the Benjamin Trails have been great so far for the $225 I paid for my .25 magnum. All the Trails are magnums, .177, .22, & .25. They are well made, better in areas that become obvious with use. Anyone can get a bad one now and then. But in the $300 price range, Benjamin Trail's are great. More of a top-shelf gas rammed break barrel. Shrouded and suppressed as well.

To further muddy the water, I was looking at the different Diana models and noticed this.

i saw there is also a stealth version that has a mount and scope with some other goodies. Any insight on the difference in these and how they compare?
im drawn to it because the review I watched says they are not as hold sensitive as the 34.

Union, what sort of groups have you been able to achieve with the factory setup on the Benjamin?

"mcnasty"Looks like the one in .22 that Midway has in-stock is this:
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/213017/rws-34-p-break-barrel-air-rifle-22-caliber-pellet-black-polymer-stock-blue-barrel-with-air-gun-scope-4x32mm-matte

I'm
assuming that's the older model before the T06 trigger as the other ones list the T06 in the specs. Is this really a big deal or should I just place the order and stop obsessing?
My 34 classic didn't list the trigger as a TO6 but it is. Call, they'll tell you if it's old stock or not.

It looks like you're correct. Midway advised it is the current model and is not old stock
