New Airgun Options

Hi, I am new to air gunning and was wondering what the best beginner airgun for small game hunting is. I am looking for something that is good, but not the best. I just want a gun that is good for beginners and will get the job done. A good price range is $150-$300. Any imput is appreciated, thanks! (I am currently looking at a Hatsan Mod 95)

Do you know if a spring Airgun or PCP is the way you want to go? That is your first decision. If you want an all rounder, I would opt for the Weihrach HW95 springer on sale at Airguns of Arizona for $299 . It's a proven gun in both hunting and field target circles, and for the special price AoA has it, I think it is the best bang for your budget. You can shoot it with the iron sights until you get money for mounts and a scope, and you are set. For about $500 you would be all in with this set up. You could then re-use the scope and mounts on a PCP gun if that is the route you want to take.

if you want to invest more right out the gate, then a starter PCP will be the Crosman Discovery. They are about $299 but require a pump and scope so now you are closer to $500. Then scope, mounts.

I bought a Hatsan 95 Vortex .22 for $149.99 at AirGun Depot, and they are on sale till Nov. 26th I think, maybe longer. (Get the Vortex gun, you can keep it cocked while you hunt, and it is the one on sale ;-) )

I was shooting it today, and this is a real powerhouse, It shoots faster than my HW90's I think, and they are very expensive guns. For this price, for a gas ram gun, with this quality ... this thing is off the charts. I was shooting Crosman Premier HP's to break it in, and have not settled on a game pellet yet, I need to put it on paper for that.

I must warn you, it takes muscle strength to cock, this is not a kids little gun, this is a full size gun capable of taking small game including possum, jack rabbit and maybe coon !

wll

EDIT: Sorry Got this deal at Midway !
