My scope cam iphone 6 mount

I’m working on my iPhone scope mount. I picked up the items from my local home depot. I’m using pvc parts. I bought several pieces to try, but the clean out cap with the wrench end cut-off gave the most flat surface and surface area for joining the phone holder to the pvc. I used four 1/4″-20×5/16 nylon hex bolts. These should be easy on the scope surface. I drilled and tapped the pvc for the nylon bolts. The pvc slides over the scope with 1/16th clearance all around and the 4 nylon bolts hold it tight. More pics later after the finished coats of paint.

I agree. I've been working with mine on maintaining the focus/reticle crispness balance. I am also trying to manage the light/dark issues when I'm in the open and then focusing into the darker woods on higher magnification. Scoping darker areas I have to refocus to lighten up the picture and then the reticle may not be fully crisp in focus. I'm playing with the phone, scope and settings to see what works best because I know in the woods it will be harder to manage all variables and make a quick shot. At least the mount is rugged and stable. I've managed some good precision shots with great pellet flight video. It is easy to do what Jack.K said to focus the reticle. I like to point mine to the sky at the same time where the camera can only focus on the reticle. It makes it very crisp in focus, but maybe someone with more experience can chime in on the light/dark refocus issue. i.e. increasing scope magnification while aiming into a darker wooded area then losing the reticle focus when you refocus to lighten the overall picture. The answer may be don't it. That is, maybe there are limitations to how many variables one can control at a time. The best hunting is generally early morning and late evening so it isn't always ideal for video. It's different in a field without shadows or at the range. More expensive units may make these issues irrelevant, but it's still fun trying to work out the kinks with your iPhone and a homemade rig. I guess if we can cough up the bucks for an expensive gun we could do the same on camera gear. :)

"Fuwenxu"is any auto focus issue when using it?
Sorry I was slow to respond, I didn't see the post. I have found that if you adjust the length back from the glass well, it isn't as much of a problem. I backed mine up a 1/2 inch after initial use and found it to be clearer and crisper reticle. You can see the difference in some of my hunting videos. Also, I have a parallax adjustment on my scope and if the setting is correct for the yardage, then the picture/reticle image is much better. The camera is more sensitive to light changes. I tap the screen to focus and adjust the light for a good image, but if I make a big movement of the gun I may have to re-tap the screen before shooting. You will see that sometimes after my shot. That is, everything is crisp and a good picture, but when I lower or move the gun to follow the squirrel dropping the picture may wash out very bright. It is simple to tap the screen again, but you miss a little right after the shot sometimes. That doesn't always happen, but enough that you notice, but I generally am just sharing my fun though, and not trying to produce high quality cinematography. I've been quite pleased with it especially given the low cost and ease of using my phone.
