MY NEW KRAL BREAKER SILENT BULL PUP...HONEST REVIEW!

Strikefast, John
If I may ask some questions why a bullpup for FT Comp? And I am assuming the reason you prefer a .177 is the drop but isn't the .177 effected more in the windage than .22 or .25, do you think the .25 850fps for the Kral is too slow? Or can a .25 even be used in FT competition?
I ask why bullpup due to the linkages whereas a standard style eliminates the linkages and should make for a cleaner breaking trigger group?

Sorry for the barrage of questions thanks in advance

Hahaha, I hear ya Willie...Earlier in this post I said if it turns out to be a good rifle, I might consider buying one in .177 for FT...... .25 hell no!
It is hard enough to put the .177 pellets through a 3/8" hole which is the minimum for a AAFTA kill zone.

Presently many competitors are using Mike Niksch's Thomas rifle in the carbine configuration. I have held one off hand at the Nationals this past year. The bulk of the weight being close to the core of my body, made it considerably nice for that position a little easier to hold on target. That fact and the lighter weight seems well suited for FT.

However as I shoot off a bum bag and my knee in my class, I don't know how it would do in that position. It most likely needs a butt hook and possibly a knee riser.

It would be nice to get a 9.8 lb gun with the scope, and perhaps 2 lbs more in acessories on the trail. Beats my 14.5 lb 44.5" long Steyer... However, unless putting a Polygonal LW barrel on the Kral, I doubt it would make the grade.... I was just thinking out loud.

Also you are correct. Direct trigger over the linkage bar for sure. That Kral setup is ok for hunting, but too simplified for a true target trigger/match grade.... Good questions though...Didn't mean to confuse...

Willie let us know if you do. Would be interesting.

Ramjet. I have my baffles being delivered today. But I can't do any testing of groups yet. We are experiencing 20 mph cross winds today. I Have today and tomorrow to practice for a match Sat. Leaving for the motel on Fri so I won't get to groups with this rifle until next week...

I believe I have Ramjet. That back end of the shroud appears to have an insert attached on the knurled end. I mic'd it a 14.19 mm or thereabouts. It is either threaded or force fitted with thread locker. I could not unscrew it.

I sent private msg to OldCorp telling him I believed I would have to apply heat in order to get it out. He sent me a link to Travis from WAR on another Forum. There he and a few others stated about the amount of threadlocker on the gun. So I'm assuming that's the issue

The knurled end would have to come out to go on the front end that will now be the back The front cap would have to go to the back, now front as it is flippd. That's assuming that it's threaded. There's no other way to hold the baffles in that I can see

Again I really don't need silence as much as I need shortness. If I do decide to add suppression, I have a Brocock moderator that I would put on the threaded end. Unfortunately, I would have to have a new cap for the air gauge and the fill port, milled
In a thinner profile to allow it to fit. This is due to the recessed barrel.

Ok I reveived my Mrod baffles from Hillargun, com and it will accept 4 baffles without the spring and they are snug. The aound is more then passable for hunting. Not much louder then my .22 FX was. So I won't need to reverse the shroud and happy to keep the gun at 29" !

I will try some groupings next week if I get a low wind day. Blowing at 10-15 with gusts at 20 right now. Not to mention it is too damn cold to sit under a shady overhang on a concrete bench... My trigger finger was going numb, working on a holdover chart for my friend, who will be using my spare FT gun at the match Saturday... I click in open , and he uses holdovers in Hunter class....Boy when did I become such a pussy about cold fingers....Sheesh !

By the way ! I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS COMMENTED ON THIS POST AND CONTRIBUTED INFORMATION CONCERNING THE KRAL....
THIS IS WHAT A GOOD FORUM SHOULD BE!

SOME LIKE MINDED FOLKS WHO LOVE THE HOBBY/SPORT AND HAVE POSITIVE THINGS TO CONTRIBUTE TO IT.

I HAVE ENJOYED READING AND WRITING WITH YOU ALL. CUDOS TO ALL OF YOU...!

KEEP IT UP GUY AND GALS..... THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH YOU... (Sorry for the shameful star wars reference...you would think I was too old for that remark...I am.!.)

Its you that should be thanked oh Jedi master ...you asked for it :)
you not only did a fair subjective review from the point of view of a FT shooter but also dealt with and corrected issues as they popped up explaining in detail so others will not fall to the darkside of the force ;)
Now I may need to call on you for protection from the dark sith I married when she sees a new package at the door, and for advice in traversing the narrow and slippery path of setting up this gun as an acceptable FT trainer
Thanks Again

Hey guys look at this...!! My Buddy Jimmy had a K Hummingbird delivered in a hard case when he bought it used.

It fit the Kral perfect. We both ordered one for our guns...$37.50 on Ebay
Bald Eagle Gun Case 13" x 31-1/2"

It is definitely not for airline use and would not expect it at the price point. When mine came in the top board was pulled out from the hinge side in the middle, and was hooked on the frame. Just pushed it back and it went back into the frame. No biggie. i d notice it was hardboard with a textured skin. I don't think it is glued in and the frame holds it together,, Is perfect to take to the range or storage. It has ssome desiccant pouches (2) inside .

It has combo locks as well as key locks, All in All a great inexpensive way to keep the gun. Jimmy said that Charlie Fear of Georgia Airguns is now carrying them,,,,
