My whisper cat is still pretty loud. a lot is from the spring cylinder, but still gives a fair amount of report from the business end.

How many shots do you figure have been shot thru it ? New guns sometimes " deisel" for a while before settling down .

A well tuned springer is usually pretty quiet when it is shooting the pellet weight that delivers the most muzzle energy for the particular rifle. Let me suggest you try a heavier pellet. If you have a chrony you can shoot a range of weights through it. You will find that one or two of them deliver the most energy. They will usually be very close in weight. I think the reason that they are quieter is simply that more energy which could turn into noise and heat leaves the barrel with the pellet. Worth a try anyway,.

There is an oil called tune in a tube over @ PA, I have read that people are having good results with it on spring noise.

it is a 5+ years old whisper cat. No dieseling or supersonic crack, just want to make it even quieter.
