Lost Newbie

I would not stress the Pumping thing. If it is all you can do, do that. There is a sweet little Brocock .177 for sale used at AoA (I'm not advertising them trust me, but I do look at their used section often) I almost bought it myself. That gun is going for just under $400, can try your luck with a $60 China pump, it is totally doable. You can always sell it forward later and get something else when you can afford it.
I do not have the experience these guys have on the springers, so don't take this as gospel, but: I think I prefer the HWs because I think (see comment above) that they are still made by their German parent company, ergo a quality gun. Diana, RWS, etc are being made in China (I think) Have seen some reputable guys (Tominco) shoot a Diana on video review and literally fall apart as he was shooting it.

The HWs (Weirauch) and Beeman R series are still made in Germany as are the RWS/DIANA springers. The new Diana PCPs are rebranded Chinese SnowPeak guns. Diana made a foray into the PCP world a few years back with their own German made guns, but they apparently never caught on.
Thanks for the info John. For some reason I was under the impression that Diana was being sourced to China. Seemed to click for me as well, I have not held one, but they seem like a bit less in fit and finish in pictures and reviews. Perception sometimes is everything.
