Just ordered a new to be Released Sightron FFP SV series

Sightron is coming out with a new 4.5-24X 56 I cut and pasted the info below from the Sightron catalog. It won’t be available until the Spring and I’m on the list to be notified when they are available. I will be doing a full review on it shortly after I receive it. The listed Cost is bit over $2000.00. I’ve always wanted i good ED glass scope and I’ve been very happy with the 2 other Sightron scopes I own this will be my first premium scope that I feel is in the same class with high end scopes out there. Definitely a big step above my Athlon Argos.
Some of the features I’m looking forward to trying are the parallax fine tuning and locking turrets. The fine tuning parallax allows you to tune out any heat mirage and also lets you tune it back in when you want to use them for figuring out the wind.

SVSSED Series
The new SVSSED4.524x56FFPIRMH-H is the first SV Series with the new Sightron Illuminated Mil-Hash-H First Focal Plane Reticle. The new MH-H reticle features windage marks at .2 Mil spacing for accurate shot placement. The large locking tactical knobs feature .1 MRAD clicks with 10 MRAD per revolution.
The new illumination system is incorporated with the side focus for a more streamline profile.
All New SVSSED models feature a 34mm main body tube with an ED objective lens for increased clarity.

I wound up getting a SFP Scope the Hawke ED 10-50x60 it normally sells for $899 I got it at DVOR for $599. It’s scheduled to be delivered in a day or 2.
I’m probably going to get the new Sightron 4.5x24 in April as by then my deplinished bank account will be in better shape. Sightron gives Veterans like myself an excellent discount and they have always been a pleasure to deal with. I probably own 15 scopes but none of them are in the category of this Sightron which I’ll probably put on a Edgun R5 that I’m also saving for.

That Hawke is also on my list, it checks all the boxes at 1/2 of the cost or more. I own 3 Hawke SD30 8-32 56 - nothing but satisfactions. It's the curiosity more than anything to try the Sightron SVSSED to see how much better in comparison to the Hawke top tier. I own Zeiss Conquest HD5 sitting on Kimber 84M which I can move to the RAW 1000x .357 (160 ft lbs) for extreme long range shooting after the hunting season :)

I also bought from DVOR Hawke SD30 6-24 56 a few days ago at 339.95 standard shipped but ended up canceling it before they ship it out; I got cold feet with too many negative reviews about their practices and don't want to go though the hassles. I hope it works out for you.

I have a 308 custom built rifle that I built that can hit cantaloupe size groups at 1000 yds. My problem in the North east I have to travel 3-5 hours to find a range longer than 200 ,thats the reason I got into pcp Rifles you can have the same challenge at 200 yards as you would at 1000 with a powder burner. I used to work in TX but I could never talk my wife into moving, I almost bought a house in Dripping Springs but I just couldn’t convince her.

Interesting, I can see why it's hard to find space where you are. I moved back to TX 3 years ago after spending 20 years in VA/DC area - I didn't have to do much convincing, I took my wife down here during the winter times a few times and she's sold :)

I don't really go to 1000, the property we have for deer/hog hunting maxed out at 700. The Zeiss/Kimber 84M combo is one shot/one kill with the right ammo <500. That hunting ground is 4+ hours from where I live, hence the PCP where I can shoot daily at 50 at home or 100+ for about 10 minutes drive to the range. I do miss deer hunting season in VA where they literary every where during the hunting season.

I think it’s the same as buying from Optics Planet my last order from Dvor came in an Optics Planet box.if your worried call Hawke and ask them if it matters we’re you purchased it. The Hawke us site just says you need a receipt it doesn’t say from authorized dealer. I know Both Vortex and Athlon you don’t even need receipt as they allow the warranty to transfer with ownership Hawke is original owner only.
