Is it just me, or

What?
I'm perplexed. Doesn't it seem like if you place a FS post on the forum, you'd make yourself available to respond in a timely fashion to perspective buyers? I mean, I'm not talking about a seller turning in for the night; we all sleep. I'm referring to a seller not responding for more than a day or two.
Really?
Am I the only one bothered by this?

I understand where the OP is coming from its happened to me but sometimes things happen whether it's work, home issues or health so a seller might not get back, if I find something on the Classified section and respond I'll also keep looking, I've posted items for sale and haven't been able to get back to folks interested in what I have do to my health and yes I do feel bad about it but some things are not in our control. I've found out PM's are sometimes the best way to work out a deal rather then repling to the add it's self.

Sometimes, after posting an item for sale - life may get in the way of an instant reply. For example, maybe a personal injury or unexpected illness, or a new grand child comes into the world a little sooner than expected. Things happen!!! Most people will reply as soon as the real priorities in their life settle down.

During the summer I spend allot of time camping and I am actually camping out in the wilderness not in a campground. So if I post something for sale and I leave on a camping trip I have no way to check the forum since I will be out of any cell phone range so all respondents are at the mercy of me getting back to civilization. Do I feel bad if I am away? Nope! its called life and just because I might post something on a monday I am not going to put life on hold or delay taking a camping trip because someone might decide to respond on the following saturday. If I lose a possible sell because someone is in that much of a hurry and cant wait a couple days then so be it theres always another buyer.

Thank god there is always another seller. One should be polite enough to mention availability within their sales ad if being out of the loop more than a day or so is foreseen. Doesnt fly when we contact full blown companies why should it fly here. My 2 cents. There are an easy dozen ads on the boards that reflect poor seller habits and IMHO should be dealt with by being locked by Micheal.

Let me just this about that. I have something on the FS list. I ask that, as per the" forum rules" if you want to ask any questions about what I have up for sale, please PM me. I don't go look at the ad every time I come into the forum. Because I expect anyone interested will PM, which pops up in my inbox. THAT I check every time I log in.

Indeed. If it wasn't for the "Subscribe" option in the upper right; I too wouldnt be as Johny on the spot about replies. I ask for email, texts or calls and for the most part people follow the request if they are serious. I know it's not always the case but i see a trend of tire kicking when random with already answered questions or contact instructions go unfollowed. I like to post in the thread of a seller and follow up with email or PM but I am what you call OCD. :)
