iPhone vs dedicated camera

I do all scope cam shooting and iv not heard of the Canon N2( Looking it up now)

For slomotion I use a Casio exilim EX-ZR 200 but I would recommend a 1000 or newer.

For all other filming I use a Canon G7x..

I would actually recommend the iPhone because unlike almost every high speed camera under $600 it also records sound at 240 fps

Check out this YouTube channel he uses an iphone for all filming

He even shows his set up he made for like $10.00!

Also the video quality on the iPhone is better than on a Casio exilim.

exilim is like 6??p at 120 fps
And 540p at 240 fps
with no sound

iPhone is full 1080p at 120 fps
And 720p at 240 fps
WITH sound!!!

I would use it but I have an iPhone 5s

Only other camera that is better in my opinion would be the Sony RX100 Mk. IV
But that is like super slow motion and needs alot of light

The latest IPhones have the second best small hd screens currently in circulation. They really are very good. The only device I know of with a better screen in that size range in the Samsung Galaxy S5 with the OLED screen. OLED is currently the best display technology available.

You want to be able to see your target well as you record and higher quality screens have higher contrast ratios which shows more fine detail. More contrast and a higher frame rate can do more for clarity than more pixels on screen.

In terms of recording quality, I've never found smartphone cameras to be as good as a high quality dedicated camera. On the other hand, I haven't found them to be much worse than many low cost dedicated cameras that use similar small lens sizes. Small lenses really limit light.

The obvious point is that that there is broad range of dedicated cameras so a trip to Best Buy to see for yourself is a good idea.
