I live in the town of Manati which is about a half hours drive from San Juan and regularly hunt iguanas. My gun of choice is an Edgun Matador standard R3M 25cal bullpup with JSB Kings.

Green Iguanas aren't native there are they? I may try to go to Florida and see if I can hunt some there. Not as nice as Puerto Rico but I can get there a little easier.

Hi , I saw your post and would like to shoot some iguana. Will a .22 springer be up to the job. You say that you don't need permits, but what about the landowners permission. Please reply as I want to come down for a week but don't know who to ask.

Wow that's a gig Iguana. I was on a beach in Mexico having a picnic and we were being terrorized by 10 or 12 smaller Iguanas that were 2/3ft long. They would run in every time we moved away from the food. Very fast and a little scary. Can't imagine if they were as big as that one.

Yes, your springer would take them out. You would need closer range shooting and be very accurate. I do not know your guns energy. As for permissions, you always need owner permission. I feel PR to be more senative to guns than US. Air rifle is mostly the only permitted gun on island. I will ring Puerto Rico and ask him to comment with more authority on this. He is native there I am a guest.
